Tierra Rejada Golf Club
About
Nestled in the foothills of eastern Ventura County, Tierra Rejada Golf Club is known for its picturesque setting and stunning views. The club overlooks the Reagan Presidential Library. Tierra Rejada is unique in that it offers a formidable test for low handicappers from the championship tees but it is also accessible to mid and high handicappers thanks to the Players Course. The 5,600-yard Players Course is a "course within a course" that was designed to keep the game fun for golfers who may not be looking for a tough test. Even though it may be shorter, both golf courses still provide a challenge. There are plenty of ups and downs throughout thanks to the rolling hills and there are a variety of hazards coming into play including water and strategically placed bunkers.

Blind Shot
This course was in pretty ok shape. The biggest problem was also the biggest help. GPS on the carts cause a lot of wear and tear on the course but if you have never played the course you will need to use it. Bring your own clubs as there are so many blind shots that you will need to trust your distances. Drink cart came by only once and there was no marshal to keep things moving. Over all it was fun to go up and down the mountain but at over 6000yrds from the Blues and blind shots it makes for a long course.
Dry
The fairways are dry and little to no grass. The greens are slow and in bad shape.
Course looked pretty good
As hot as it is, the course was in pretty good shape. Breezed through round, twosome played in just over 3 hours.
Very cool course
Overall great experience. It's a fun course that is both difficult yet playable and awesome views. I enjoy playing and will keep coming back.
Long Drive
Over 80 miles from home but worth it. Played from Tournament tees . Shot type course where position was needed. Lots of elevation changes and extra club needed most of the time. Hills made reading greens difficult when it is your first time. Traps were wet but playable. Greens and fairways in good shape.
Greens kept up
Great course great deal on GolfNow pace of play was great finished course 4 half hours course layout was challenging but fun great time with friends .
Challenging course, greens are great!
Pro shop, starter not doing the job, confused tee time, don't know when to start, even your time is up, fairway need to be improved, greens are good maintained, pace of play was poor even on weekday, cost of money is great, very challenging course, will come back to play.
Course was very well maintained
The course was in great shape, fairways to green were perfectly maintained.
What was really impressing was that the starter did not filled up the 1st tee, everyone went out on their teetime so there was no backup on any holes, the only time that we had to wait for the group in front of us was when they stopped by to eat after 9 holes and we didn't stop. We played in 4 hours.
Challenging but Rewarding.. Tee Shot is Key
This was my first time playing Tierra Rejada. The range, practice green, and chipping area are perfect for getting warmed up. I came to the course as a single and joined a twosome of guys that play here regularly... After getting to the 3rd tee box, i realized how lucky i was to have joined these regulars as there are alot of blind tee shots that require some real course knowledge starting on hole 3. This course requires alot of patients.. its not overly long, but ball positioning is key. I loved the challenge of TR.. it is a great test of of golf!! In order to score you have to be in control of your distance, direction and shot shape off the tee and you will be rewarded with a fairly straightforward approach shot with some elevation change being your only obstacle to the green... dont get me wrong you will have be precise on the approach, as there is trouble with traps and OB, but the greens are soft and fairly good size, so again its all about the tee shot. Even with the soft greens allowing you to stop the ball with minimal spin on approach shots, the greens are rolling true and very nicely. This course is not for beginners and it is a great test of your game. If it is your first time at TR I would highly recommend joining a group with some course knowledge it will really enhance your experience. Rememer it is all about your tee shot.. Good Tee Shot will be rewarded.. Bad Tee Shot will be penalized severly.. there is no in between with TR. Had a Blast!!!
The star rating is Fake News
This course was not as described in the reviews. The fairways are full of dead spots that they water during your round even right in front of the green. The greens are good which is the only thing that was good here.
The major issue was the pace of play 2.5 hours to play 5 holes. Thinking it was the group in front of me I drove up to see and discover the entire course was booked to twice what it could hold. At one point there was six carts on a hole with two groups waiting to tee off. After 6 holes I decided that I did not have 10 hours to play a round and went back to my hotel. If you are not a 18 handicap don't even consider this course.
Waste of time and money.
well worth a twilight visit!
Great value! Greens in very good condition and fairways in good condition.
First time at TJ
A buddy and I played here for the first time. Well maintained course in a beautiful location, Staff very polite and helpful. We had a great time and will be back!
