About
Angeles National Golf Club is the only Nicklaus Design course in Los Angeles County. It is tucked away in the Angeles National Forest. This championship course is known for being one of the area's most challenging with tough greens that are lightning fast and more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are also two lakes and a creek that come into play. Golfers should be prepared for long par 4s and demanding carries over ravines and barrancas. Not only is it a golf course that requires length, you'll also need accuracy. Angeles National Golf Club finishes with a par 4 that plays from an elevated tee alongside the rushing creek that edges the left of the fairway and to the right of the landing area there's a deep bunker. To the right, the green is bordered by deep grass hollows and bunkers and there is a lake to the left.

Good course, not great
I would describe it as a Nicholas' 1980s style desert/resort design that is artificial compared to Hanse's more modern Rustic Canyon design that uses the same dry riverbed canyon terrain to make a unique design that fits into the landscape. That said, Angeles is in much better condition than the LA's municipal courses and good break when you get tired of dirt lies and bumpy greens.

Great course hot deal score!!
Angeles National is a hidden gem! Scored a great deal on the TeeOff app for about $48, (I’ve paid that amount for Camarillo Springs) normally it’s about $110 to get a round in. I’d take that deal every day if I could. Love the course and its layout!
The only few bad things to say about the course are lack of cart girl, no phone at the snack bar and NO MARSHALL!! We got stuck behind a group that decided to drive through the desert terrain and got their cart stuck. They had to push it out and it took about 10 mins and really slowed us down. They didn’t allow us to play through and picked up our ball but they did apologize and left a sleeve of new pro v1’s for taking our ball.

Slow play no Marshall
Day before thanksgiving .
So we were expecting a bit of a slower round but the course was double its regular price putting it at a whopping 160 which is pricey for the area.
Course was great everything great although they did charge my buddy $30 more to have his own cart .
Then 4 and 1/2 hours into the round we are on hole 15 waiting AGIAN.
As we leave and pull into 17th fairway there is now one in the fair way or on the green . Ok we think then there is not mother group after that . Hole 18 totally empty . Bummer
I’m sure I’ll be back but unfortunate that we paid double and got less .

Horrible set up again
Whoever is placing these pins needs to be fired or take up the game of golf. It’s just such a casual take on setting up a golf course.

I love this place but the pins suck
They’ve obviously got some non golfer doing in placements that are just horrendous. No issues with a tough layout but the ground staff have no idea how to set up a course. It’s turning a true test into a gimmicky novelty. Been like this for months now.
We’re talking 3 feet to the edge of the green on slopes. Someone fire whoever is placing them

Pace of play is awful
Paid 175 dollars and played 9 holes as it took soooo long just to get to the turn .
No marshals on the course to make some super slow groups hurry up !! Sorry but I can’t give this a good review due to that .

great course. Count 3 h for the first 9 holes!
I love this course. Interresting to play. In very good condition. We come for golf, so amenities are not so important, its all available you need. But once more, pace of play is extremky slow. we had 3hrs for the first 9 holes, after sone talks, the group in front let us pass. then 2 hrs for the 2nd nine.
