Angeles National Golf Club
About
Angeles National Golf Club is the only Nicklaus Design course in Los Angeles County. It is tucked away in the Angeles National Forest. This championship course is known for being one of the area's most challenging with tough greens that are lightning fast and more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are also two lakes and a creek that come into play. Golfers should be prepared for long par 4s and demanding carries over ravines and barrancas. Not only is it a golf course that requires length, you'll also need accuracy. Angeles National Golf Club finishes with a par 4 that plays from an elevated tee alongside the rushing creek that edges the left of the fairway and to the right of the landing area there's a deep bunker. To the right, the green is bordered by deep grass hollows and bunkers and there is a lake to the left.

Sad how far this place has slipped
I understand a little bit slower pace of play on Labor Day weekend, but we had a 8:50 teatime, which was 20 minutes delayed, because the first hole was backed up, and the round took almost 6 hours. When we asked, to determine why they were such a slow pace of play, because we haven’t seen any marshals, we were told there were none. It was simply the way it was, and nothing could be done. No marshals, expensive course, and unfriendly staff. Didn’t used to be this way, but clearly they just don’t care anymore. Sadly, I will never be back.
Really? 160 Bucks for this level of poor customer service?!
Played the course for the first time with a foursome. Got to the club and everything was fine until the turn. At the turn, the staff at the restaurant was incredibly rude - they wanted us out of their hair as quickly as possible and were beyond curt with us despite the fact we were being pleasant.
Things only got worse post round. I thought I had left my rangefinder there. I tried to contact the pro-shop on multiple occasions and kept getting pushed to the call center. I emailed them (which is what I was advised to do by their call center who were nice but not at all helpful) and couldn't get a response.
When one pays 160 bucks plus fees for a golf course, one expects a much better customer service experience. I get a better experience when playing at LA Munis or Rustic or Soule.
This is the last time I'll be playing this course given how unprofessional it is. And judging by the "response" here on golf now to bad reviews, I'm just waiting for them to do an auto-bot response and then never care about their customers.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I apologize for the negative experience you had with our staff and the lack of response from our pro-shop. We strive to provide excellent customer service, and I assure you that we will address these issues internally to ensure a better experience in the future.

Beautiful views
Haven’t played here in long time but it has really developed quite nicely. Fairways are pretty open and greens in great shape. Will be back soon!
Thanks so much for your wonderful review, mrleonx. We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your time with us. Please visit again soon. Thanks for choosing Angeles National Golf Club!
Must hit Fairway
Great course. Fun and challenging. My second time here. If you go OB it’s likely you will never find the ball. Staff could be a bit more friendly but that’s not to say it was a bad experience; they were kind and respectful but just seemed a little void of happiness (not a reflection of the staff, but of management). For the price, I expect a bit more…

The course is a great design but pace of play is terrible.
Three groups waiting on each tee with no marshal resulted in a 5hr 10min round.

Overpriced, and Ken has a problem.
I booked a tee time for 7:52 am and wanted to change it so I tried to call, but you cannot get ahold of the pro shop, you. have to email them, which is inconvenient for a course that costs 100 a head. I got to change the tee times through email and arrived promptly at 7 am. I went to check in and the guy behind the counter ignord me for probably a minute until i said "excuse me", he was on his phone and he said "give me a sec". I proceeded to stand there for 5 minutes. He than got to me and was very passive-aggressive and and very lazily threw me the cart key. It just felt off. We started and I was still positive because of the prestigious "national" title. I started and by the 5th hole, i realized i got ripped off. slow play, and just not a $100 course!!!
cool course but unfriendly staff and overpriced.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced while trying to change your tee time and for the poor customer service you received at the pro shop. We strive to provide a positive experience for all of our customers and we appreciate your feedback. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.

Nice course with lots of available tee times.
Since the green fees range from $ 100 to $ 200, depending on which day, the course is typically not that busy. It is in pretty good shape most of the year, with greens that aren't littered with unfixed divots. Most holes are challenging and include a picturesque desert view. We played on a Monday at 2:pm and at the turn it was a ghost town, and the snack stand was closed. Did I mention it was 95 degrees? In the end, paying extra for a nice course without having to get up at 5 to 6 am 7 days in advance is a nice option to have.
u5607894, thanks for the amazing review and for choosing Angeles National Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon!
High Price Low Experience
My son and I played 6/23 6:30am Tee time. $185/pp
Checked in at 6am and asked for a reminder of the driving range location to warm up. We were told it’s over the bridge on the right. We drove over to hit a few and it doesn’t open until 9. Maybe fill us in on that detail before we drive over??
Then, we were told it’s a back 9 start as well. So we tee off as a twosome on 10. Quick 1:30 minute 9 was fun and pace is great because no one is in front of us. Visit the snack window and no one to be seen for 8-10 minutes.
Finally someone helps us and we hustled to number 1. There’s a 3some halfway down and a single asked to join us because he was late getting to the tee box for the 3 in front of us. So they only had us start on 10? The solo did not take our hint that we wanted to stay a 2some for pace and insisted on joining. The “back” took 50 minutes longer to play.
Again, the pro shop could just communicate that we’d have groups in front at the turn and our experience would have been better.
For 185, this is unacceptable. For 50, it’s tolerable.
Course was in good shape. No Marshall for slow pace though? Probably my last round there unless it’s severely discounted.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for the miscommunication regarding the driving range hours and the back 9 start. We understand that these details affected your experience and we appreciate your feedback.

Good Course, but Can be Better!
The fairways on the golf course aren't in the best condition; they lack the lush green appearance that is expected. However, I strongly believe that this course has the potential to be one of the best in LA if the management pays more attention to maintenance and improvements.
Having played here for two years now, I have noticed that there has been a lack of progress regarding certain amenities. One major disappointment is the absence of a restaurant on the premises throughout this time. A restaurant would greatly enhance the overall experience for golfers and visitors, providing a much-needed place to relax and enjoy some refreshments.
In summary, while the golf course has potential, it is essential for the management to focus on enhancing the fairways' condition and address the lack of amenities like a restaurant to truly elevate the course's appeal and make it a top-notch destination in LA. I hope these concerns can be addressed, and I look forward to seeing positive changes in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on our golf course. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment caused by the condition of the fairways and the absence of a restaurant. We acknowledge your suggestions for maintenance and improvements, as well as the addition of amenities to enhance the overall experience. We appreciate your support and look forward to making positive changes in the future.

Great and challenging course.
Will definitely visit again.

Hi, SaraoGujral. We would love to hear more about your 4-star experience on our course. Please tell us what we can do to earn that last star, and thanks for golfing at Angeles National Golf Club!
It ain’t easy.
- Course is in great shape
- Course is difficult if you aren’t straight off the tee(bring another sleeve)
- like most reviews, place doesn’t seem to open up until after 7. Got there earlier to hit balls and couldn’t
- LOTS of blind shots. Not my favorite but makes it challenging
Overall course is great. Fairways were nice, greens were great. Shoutout to the guy behind the counter, systems failed and he still got us in and out. Course has a variety of good holes. A short par 4, short, long par 3s, and risk/reward par 5s.
Thank you for your detailed review of our course. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the opening hours and the blind shots on the course. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the overall course conditions and the variety of holes. Thank you again for your review.
Excellent course to play!
Course is worth the money in my opinion. Pace of play was rather slow, but I was also playing as a single. Staff was friendly and helpful and the facility is very nice!
Thank you for taking the time to review our business. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the pace of play, but we are glad to hear that you found our staff friendly, helpful, and enjoyed our facility. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back in the future.
communication handicap
A week ago, I booked foursomes tee time through golfnow to accommodate 3 golfers with a 12-yr child. Total 5 including myself. However, angeles national course phone number (searched in google) led me to calling center, saying no spectator is allowed. But calling center was never able to connect to pro shop to reconfirm. I attempted everyday in past a few days trying to communicate. But no luck. Therefore one guest (with his child) decided not to attend. When we checked in today, however pro shop told us spectator is definitely allowed ($30 which is reasonable). We ended up threesome without refund (as charge for no show). Frankly, the golf round was good. But whole experience was quite frustrating due to communication problem.
Hello, u282239056. Thank you for visiting us at Angeles National Golf Club and taking the time to write a review. We are sorry to hear that your experience didn't quite live up to your expectations. We will share your feedback with our staff to make corrections and improvements. Any feedback is greatly appreciated so that we can improve your future experiences at our course. Thanks again for choosing us.
Great layout and course conditions
Great layout and course conditions, but requires accuracy. Balls are easily lost in the hazards and bushes. Rattle snakes and poisonous ivy and oak warnings keep you away from searching for balls. Got bitten by some insect and my palm became swallen. Using the icebox helped. its ok now.
Pace of game was slow despite reminders on the screen. Total up to 1 hr delay.
There are cheaper courses with similar conditions in LA. But overall good company and impressions!
