Beautiful golf course but the fairways are rock hard with very little grass underneath your ball.Definitely way overpriced!

Angeles National is a course that rewards good shots and penalizes the worst shots. If you are having issues reasonably golfing your ball around the course, Angeles can have an opinion. It’s long on the card from the tips but doesn’t play that long due to the firm fairways. Grass goes dormant in the winter months due to them being Bermuda. During the growing seasons the course plays fast tee through the green. Conditions are usually pretty consistently great and predictable. Condition wise most of the fairway bunkers are full of stones and pretty devoid of sand. Those definitely need work…holes 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13 waste area, 15, 16, 17 all have fairway bunkers that are in play and need addressing. They are playable but it is likely you will need to move a rock - which you can do now within the rules. The Bent Grass Greens (yay!) are smooth and usually on the medium/fast side speed wise…usually around a 10. Sometimes it’s a treat to find them around 11 or 12 which makes for a fun putting day. Lately the course has some Poa Annua creeping in - more-so than previous years. Must be all of the rain we’ve had but it needs attention. Particularly in the green surrounds.

Other than my nitpicking, I play this course two to three times per week and every round I tell myself how thankful I am I can play here. It’s filled beautiful views of the mountains and hills as well as the lowland wash. You’ll likely see Coyotes, rabbits, roadrunners, quail, lizards and sometimes a rattlesnake (so watch out for that if you’re hunting for balls). It’s a unique place for golfers that want to play golf then go home…which is me. With the restaurant perpetually closed (I probably would not use it anyway) you won’t find much off course dining. However, the grill is good and they offer several prepared and cooked to order options that are tasty and very adequate.

All in all, love the staff, love the quality of golf, happy to be here….. if you can play well here, your game will travel.

My first time there. It was a very nice course with challenging hols. Course conditions was very good as well. I do recommend.

Pro shop staff were nice. I even bought a nice polo.

Played Angeles National for the first time today and loved it. The course is in great condition, it’s tough but fair, greens are tricky but true, and the scenery is spectacular.

Would probably avoid it in high winds as some holes are pretty tight and you’re not finding your ball in the cactus/desert but in calm conditions was a joy to play.

Definitely not a track for beginners.

It’s a premium price but personally I think worth the extra few $$.

good layout, well maintained, would play again if I lived in LA. Worth going to, greens and course in well maintained condition and practice range and greens are nice.

Course conditions were very good. Fairways played very fast with tons of rollout. Sometimes it was too much around the greens and the ball went long into the ESA. No rough to speak of, but beware of those ESA areas. The greens are very challenging, but fair, and in excellent condition. One of my favorite LA courses, but on the expensive side. Took 5 hours to play. We waited on every hole, but not more than a minute or two. Nice grass driving range. Chipping green is as good as any putting green, but inexplicably has been closed for a very long time.

I loved the coarse with the beautiful flowers and green. It was hot and we wish there little more trees for shade. It was our first time and we got hard time finding direction for next hole whenever there are two road options because there was no sign for next hole for some locations. If you can put more sign for those two way roads, it would be very helpful.

Beautiful backdrop for a challenging track: it’s always in good condition. The creative course design is consistently fun to play even though the greens were a bit slow this time around. The expensive, frozen microwaved food is a bit sad at the clubhouse. Also there’s no beverage cart or water on the course. A few small adjustments to the amenities would make the experience so much better

Very expensive at full rate. Played here for years. Very high slope rating from white or blue tees. Very challenging course will cause lost balls if you don't play it safe. Beautiful mountain views.

condition of the course was good both times I played, but for the price I'd expect better amenities.

no cart girl and just a dinky snack window. Only way its worth the price is with a golf now hot deal and even then its pricey on the weekend.

This course would get a whole lot better ratings an play if they offered a twilight rate.

Usually reliable course had a tourney in front of us.

Almost made me give up the game all together.

I had a tee time of 11:12a. That day Angeles National hosted a tournament for the US Am Tour. There was no notice given about the tournament, or the gap of just 8 minutes between groups. My tee time came immediately after the tournament groups. Our foursome's round lasted every bit of 6 hours. There were no marshals on the course helping with pace of play (there was a notice on the cart screen telling us how far behind pace we were, as if we could do anything about it). At $100.00 for a weekday green's fee, this is beyond unacceptable.

I got a hot deal and wanted to try this course again, since it was a couple of years since the last time. We had to stay on the cart path, so It took more time by "running" back and forth. I had a pretty good time playing, but lost a bunch of balls. The greens are in great shape and The course is nice! There is always some people that don't fix the divots on the greens, which is also a problem here and very irritating!

I will probably come back when I get a good deal again, but when you count inn the loss of balls...It's not so cheap :-/. I shot a 103 today, so not very good score wise :-0

Death march and conditions for the money absolutely terrible! I’m sure this review will be ignored. Hoping someday these courses charging three times what they are charging today can’t beg for people to play for half the amount!
