Just met a new employee behind the desk and what an improvement! Usually the staff has been impolite and generally unkind.

This new guy (blond hair, late fifties early sixties) who started a month it so back was so friendly and welcoming.

It makes a huge difference to be treated with kindness and shiwvthey care!

Kudos to a great hire!

I played here with a buddy while I was away on a business trip. I called the morning before to ask what kind of clubs they had, and they responded with Szrixon. “OK” I thought - probably decent clubs and didn’t think anything of it. When I arrived, they handed me a set of Cleveland Graphite shaft clubs which ended up being unplayable - especially for the $80 or so they charged. Making our way through the course, there was no real fairway, rough or fridge to speak of - the course literally was just sand and dirt. I would blame a drought but it was raining for several weeks prior so I’m not sure what happened. All in all, the views were cool but for the price tag this course should a lot better. Won’t be returning and definitely bring your own clubs.

Course has zero grass in the fairways even after all the rain. It's like hitting off concrete. Would never waste my money playing here again. I used to play here all the time but it's unplayable now and their prices are absurdly high for what it is.

Staff is unfriendly. Course was empty but they charge full price for replays. Nothing makes sense here. Shame because design of the course is great as it is a Nicklaus course. Too many other good courses to play that are in superior condition for less than half the price. Would never come back.

Course is overall in good condition. Fairways a little dry with T boxes and greens in very good condition. Pace of play was excellent.

Played in the afternoon at 12.00 but the ran late already 20 min.

Lost my cell phone but couldn’t reach the pro shop

so the next day had to drive up to the course and luckily the had found it !!

If you think maybe the course conditions improved with the last month of rain, think again. The fairways are still in terrible condition. The greens are ok, but can be unfair. For what this place has charged over the years you’d think they would’ve put some money back into the course. As everyone else says, this round is not anywhere near worth $175. The only positive is that it’s a pretty quick drive from LA.

Side note, we played the day of a scramble tournament. They had us tee off right after a shotgun start and even though the groups were only threesomes, we waited 5-10 minutes on every hole. There was no heads up given to us, no discounted round, and no one in the pro shop would pick up the phone when we called to inform them of the slow pace. I’ve never had an issue with their customer service but this was not surprising given the other reviews.

I’ve always given this place the benefit of the doubt due to the accessibility but i don’t think I’ll be going back unless their course conditions really improve.

Unfortunately this is my worst experience playing at Angeles National. I usually don’t play here due to value versus price but made the exception as this day the price was much less than typical. However the conditions dropped with the price. They were 20+ minutes behind our starting Tee Time and that compounded to a 50 minute behind pace experience on the course. While the time waiting was a nightmare the fairways were as bad. The fairways were punched almost everywhere and all the punched material was left in the fairway. Picture mud pellets everywhere.

If you want a challenge without paying a 3-figure price, this is the course. Greens roll pure, and the tips on the front 9 is super long. You're not going to get pure green fairways, but you won't have issues with bad lies on grass. Definitely rewards straighter hitters and no guarantee up and downs. Love the challenge. Only thing that I don't like is irons only on the range. Otherwise, top notch for the price.

This was our first time playing. Hot deal for $109 was worth the money. Any more than that…. I don’t know if it’s worth more than that.

Our tee time was at 12:00. When we arrived at 11:15 the line of carts waiting to start was already 10 deep. We didn’t get to tee off until 12:25 AND THEN had at least a 10-15 minute wait on every hole. The front nine took us 3 hours and ten minutes. How many marshalls did we see? Zero. Nobody. There was no way we were gonna finish and were sick of the experience. Asked the pro shop after if they could do anything and he said “you can go play the front nine again, maybe it will be quicker now.” For the amount of money this course charges it was a travesty. So sad

So it’s my second time playing at the chorus and it’s super nice and all but the night before our teatime. My fourth guy texted me saying he tested positive for Covid and so I proceeded to contact the Golf Course and try to cancel sending the email and they rejected it charge me $95 for someone who had Covid, I’m kind of surprised in these times of Covid that they would not have a better policy. Is there anything you could do or advise me to do to try to reverse the charge

I started playing here during the pandemic. When it was impossible to find a tee time in LA. Like most people, I wanted to play and coughed up the $$$ because it was the only course with tee times.

A fair price for this course is $80-100. Not, &180!

The clubhouse and restaurant are beautiful- BEEN CLOSED for 3+ years.

But, they charge $180…

The starter and staff are cool.

I think there’s on 1 guy working at the pro shop,

1 guy in the snack shop,

1 cart girl- sometimes

But, it’s $180

No Marshall- which is a joke because they’re a a number of knuckleheads playing the black tee’s spraying balls all over and loosing a dozen balls per round. This is extremely frustrating, time consuming and they play not knowing the rules or any concern for the pace of play or course etiquette.

But, it’s $180 to play there

Usually by the time you make the turn, the snack shack is closed. If you try to call a food order in at the snack shack, no one answers.

If you want to call the pro shop, you can’t. You can only communicate through Golf Now. But, it’s $180 to play.

If you want to discuss (complain) with the starter, do it early because the pro shop closes at 1:30-2:00pm. And, it’s only $180 to play there so…

The course layout is great. The greens are better than great. The tee boxes are hammered and the fairways are rock hard, baked, with hardly any green grass. Drought ok, but, I played there after a recent storm and think the fairways were harder than hard. Pretty tough to bottom out after the ball and take a divot because the fairways feel like the cart path. If you try not to shatter your wrists by taking a digit, you get penalized and blade your second shot.

This is my first review and first for this course. I read all the identical reviews for the past 3 years and thought if I write a review, someone might actually do something besides a “I’m sorry response” online.

The course is fun and challenging, The staff are friendly, which I guess makes me come back. But, every time I go there, I’m hoping the did something to improve the experience and, I’m dissatisfied.

I think the root of the problem is that I’m angry at myself because I always feel I got ripped off yet, I go back because there’s no fee times elsewhere and I think someday the price to pay will be fair

It’s not worth $180

This course is tough. It’s narrow and you have to keep the ball in play. Amateur golfers play this course. I’m one of them. We all will, inevitably not hit fairways. Take 4 groups an hour x 10 hours @ 18 holes = three groups on every hole because golfers are searching for their tee shots and sometimes second shots. Course really needs to pad the start times to accommodate for this. It’s always been a problem. With that being said this course is amazing and a real test. Greens roll at 12, fairways are like Carnoustie and if you aren’t right off the tee you’re shooting high.

If you’re a decent player this course is a good test to see how your game actually stacks up. Condition was perfect, fast and difficult greens.
