Angeles National Golf Club
About
Angeles National Golf Club is the only Nicklaus Design course in Los Angeles County. It is tucked away in the Angeles National Forest. This championship course is known for being one of the area's most challenging with tough greens that are lightning fast and more than 50 strategically placed bunkers. There are also two lakes and a creek that come into play. Golfers should be prepared for long par 4s and demanding carries over ravines and barrancas. Not only is it a golf course that requires length, you'll also need accuracy. Angeles National Golf Club finishes with a par 4 that plays from an elevated tee alongside the rushing creek that edges the left of the fairway and to the right of the landing area there's a deep bunker. To the right, the green is bordered by deep grass hollows and bunkers and there is a lake to the left.

Hello, thank you for your 5-star rating! Please book another round with us soon at Angeles National Golf Club!
Very nice.
Course was in good condition. Speed of play was fast given the time of day and the heat. Will definitely play again if given the chance.
Hello, reygoyos. Thank you for your 5-star rating! Please book another round with us soon.

Best course in LA.
Love this track...but more importantly Chris and other staff members are very accommodating and truly care about the patrons. Live playing here!

Love me some Angeles National
I love coming and playing here. the best practice facilities and staff in LA. Thank you for always listening to my needs and accommodating. See ya around.
Hi, julianahahn. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time at Angeles National Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you at the course soon for another 5-star experience!
Nice layout
The conditions were well below average. Greens were worse than putting on glue.
Hi, lecu7. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We are working to get everything up to par and the current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. Please be assured that we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Angeles National Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Fairways finally have some much needed turf. Greens were recently punched though we were still able to roll putts. I love the layout, and the ability to play all the shots. The recent fires have opened up the holes and cleaned out some of the brush so the course really has a desert feel to it now.
Wow - Thank you for the four star review! We are happy to have exceeded your expectations. Our playing conditions are very important to us and we are glad you enjoyed them. We look forward to having you back again soon! Until then, take care!
A very enjoyable day on the course !
Nice weather, a well-kept grass driving range, the course itself was a bit too firm & dry for May (but overall in good shape), and the pace-of-play was terrific.
The only real noticeable downside... "last call" on the beverage/hospitality cart was much too early for those of us with an afternoon tee time.
Thank you for the great feedback! We love hearing from you and are glad you had a good experience. We would love the opportunity to bump those 4 stars to 5. We hope you will come back soon so we can WOW you on your next visit. Until then, take care!

A decent place tad expensive
Course was in decent shape and they're out there maintaining it best they can. Fairways were thin and this Midwesterner had some difficulty getting used to the constant tight lies. Has a decent practice facility. Proshop and bathrooms looked "tired." Greens were excellent course was playing hard and fast. The far too numerous traps can be hit or miss but from what I saw maintained. Ranger was filling divots on Par 3's. Overall had a pleasant experience except a two-some was "fit in" right in front us "due to overbooking" for our early morning Saturday round. Still made it around in 420 or so but we were waiting most of the day. 4 some behind us didn't keep up so I can safely say rounds later in the day were probably 5 hours. I've never been a fan of Nicklaus designs and still am not. There are so many tiers/quirks to the green sites you have to play Angeles National a few times.....you can be 10 feet on the wrong side of the hole and have a putt you have to hit so perfectly it's almost unfair. A few too many forced carries over sand traps and late back nine that starts to get really old. Course does have some interesting holes and I'll probably play it better if I go back there some day. Recommend it but for what you get it's a 60 or 70 value. Decent LA area public golf can be pretty hard to come by on weekends and normally you have 5 plus hour rounds. Angeles National is decent enough just expensive.
Could be an amazing golf experience...
I want to love Angeles National for many reasons, and I’m sure there’s a version of it that would inspire golfers everywhere to pawn their most precious belongings to make this their regular track. That said, outside of a brilliant and challenging course design from one of the game’s greats, Mr. Nicklaus, the overall golfing experience leaves a player wanting for more, and wondering where your money went. I’ve played the course several times, and now I’m able to make an informed review about it. This experience is bare bones. There are little to no amenities at the course. You’re lucky to find a ball washer every 5 holes, and if you’re looking for the kind of usual perks that come with a course with a price tag like this, you’re looking in the wrong place. There is no one to greet you or take your bags to check you in, no one to clean your clubs at the end of the round, no coolers on the old carts, or usual swag like complimentary tees that come with a green fee at this tier... You can’t even drive your cart to the parking lot to unload. I’ve played the course during different seasons, and you never know what the conditions of the course or the pace of play will be. I thought I saw a Marshall once, but if there are Marshall’s here, they’re sleeping on the job. The tees and greens are usually well kept and very consistent, but the fairways have recently been punched and the course feels bald, making iron play and shot shaping a challenge. The bunkers are as hard as parking lots, and today was stuck behind a foursome that may have been one of the slowest groups I’ve ever been behind. On the last three holes we waited maybe 15 minutes in each fairway to take our approach shots, and even after a friendly yell to hurry things up, the group took their time shaking hands on 18, and went back for a selfie while we had been standing on the 18th fairway for over 10 minutes waiting to hit. Overall, this place may be worth a one-time visit to say you played the only Nicklaus course in Los Angeles county, but really you’d be better off playing 3 rounds at your local muni than paying a premium green fee for a less than premium experience. If you’re looking for a top tier golf experience that delivers, courses like Oak Creek in Irvine, Ojai Valley, or Pelican Hill will not disappoint. Otherwise, you may find more comfort in the often towel-less ball washers at every tee at your local muni, and the more predictable pace of play (even if it’s slow). In a world where Angeles National provides a more premium golf experience to match its premium golf fee (maybe under new management), I would definitely be more interested in returning more regularly. Until then, I’ll stick with my local munis, and when I want a premium experience I’ll head to Orange County or the Palm Springs area for a weekend.
Thank you for visiting us at Angeles National Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Angeles National
if you like challenging golf, you wont be disappointed. we caught the course in bloom......even the desert was flowering.....great greens...hardpan fairways like Scotland . FUN
Wow, we are so happy you enjoyed your round, Robert! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Hello, miltonfang. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
