About
La Cantera Golf Club opened in 1995, when it also hosted one of the oldest PGA Tour events, the Texas Open. It is no wonder the spot was chosen, with its numerous natural water features, mature oaks, and limestone rock outcroppings it provides the perfect terrain for a challenging round. There are also 75 white sand bunkers strategically placed throughout the golf course. In combination with the spectacular views provided by the course’s elevation changes, the course has quickly gained favor as one of the best public-access golf courses in the country.

Good course but a little pricey
The course was well maintained and good design. Enjoyed the round.
However I feel it is a little pricey for what it offers.
Winter Golf
Great Staff, very friendly and helpful.
Greens in great shape, a little slow but for Winter..it's good.

Municipal course at resort prices
The conditions of the course are terrible considering they want to charge 170+ dollars around. The sand traps are basically concrete with a light dusting above them I completely jacked up my sand wedge trying to hit a shot. Heading at the driving range I was hitting at dirt. I am local to San Antonio and would not recommend this course to anyone I know. You are much better off going to one of the municipal courses

Course conditions were great. Unfortunately, 1 1/2” of rain in the prior 24 hours led to cart path only. There are not very many yardage markers so we were often caught without the proper club, and the cat was 70-80 yards away!
