Overrated

I called to confirm course conditions were solid because they were closing the next day for overseedimg. Course staff assured me it was in top condition. Upon arrival first thing out of the bag drop employees mouth was that course needs tons of work and isn’t tip top. Course as dry as a bone and greens and surrounding areas wouldn’t hold even the best of shots. It was a joke. No one in our group of six enjoyed it. Course layout on front nine was boring. Back nine was better but overall not worth your time or money much better courses in the valley. All in all the only PGA West course I’ve truly enjoyed is the Greg Norman.

Love the Mountain Holes

The Pete Dye Mountain Course at PGA West is worthy of it's name for the 7 holes that are situated up against, in-between and/or over the nearby mountains. The remaining 11 holes are good golf holes, but are similar to the sister Dunes Course. Course conditions were very good although I would have enjoyed faster rolling greens and sand in many of the bunkers was almost non-existent. Very comfortable clubhouse, with very nice pro shop attendants and tee starter. Pace of play was excellent as our threesome completed the round in just over 3 1/2 hours. I would play this course again should I ever return to the area, but would hope that I would either stay out of the sand (dirt) or that the bunkers would be more playable with ample sand within them. An additional water/ice comfort station on the front nine would be appreciated - especially in the hot weather.

Backed up 5 groups deep

Worst experience I’ve ever had golfing and. I’ve played all over. We got backed up and 5 groups were sitting on a tee box together trying to figure out what’s going on. No Marshall, no cart girl, no manager to help after I decided to just leave. No manager to help when I called today and no call back. This place would be amazing if anyone cared about managing the place at all.

Nice course

My sister and I played the mountain course. It was challenging and very scenic. Especially the second 9. Nice pace and never felt rushed. Price was very reasonable. They have a nice restaurant and bar with a killer view. Would definitely play again

Great Round

My wife and I played a round this afternoon in 3 hours. Course is in great shape. They are doing some prep on the greens for fall over seeding, with top dressing, but still a great experience. Our favorite course in La Quinta.

Too pricey for the course conditions.

The greens were very sandy and we weren't told when we booked the round. There were a group of guys ahead of us that were very unruly, I assume a bachelor party.

The round was over 4 hrs.

Mountain Course

Played Saturday Mid Morning 8/21 on a cooler day than usual in the desert. It was only 90 degrees at 10:30 and course was in good shape for summer. There were a few greens that had some sand on them but it did not affect the roll of the ball. Overall course in fine shape and always a treat to play the Mountain Course anytime .

Punched greens, wet fairways.

This course is not worth over $100 in the summer. The greens were really bad and should be considered. The fairways were super wet. I enjoyed the layout, just disappointed in paying over $100 to play on bad greens.

Terrible Condition

We were in town for a three day golf trip and booked this the final day. The course is in absolute terrible condition all around. The greens are the worst I have seen in the valley. On top of this they are charging $75. We had played PGA Nicholas course and expected this would be in similar condition. It is not even close which explains why it was easy to get on.
