About
Avery Ranch Golf Club is a part of the Avery Ranch residential community, 20 minutes northwest of town, that was carved and blasted out of the rocky ranchlands along Brushy Creek. This historically significant area was once home to Indians and robbers, who were drawn to this beautiful setting thick with dense oaks, meandering creeks and abundant wildlife.
The golf course was designed by former Jack Nicklaus designer Andy Raugust, who literally had to use dynamite to blast rock out of the landscape for five holes. His design features two potential signature holes on each nine.
No. 7 doglegs left, and features two scenic carries -- one off the tee and another on the approach. The hole is rather short, providing the chance to be in good position for this most spectacular approach shot on the golf course. Staring at the multi-level green, you’ll notice the huge rock wall fronting the green, the large bunker to the right, and the native cacti to the rear.
Avery Ranch Golf Club's 13th is sure to be considered one of the best par 3s in the Austin area. The 161-yard par 3 features water on the right side, impressive, towering oaks in the back, and a unique ridge of rocks to the right of the green. Great value
Layout was OK - some tricked up holes... played from the gold. The conditions are a little iffy... but the greens are in great shape. There are some unique holes out there, but all in all it was well worth the money spent.
Great Time
Had a great time playing the course. The pace was slow but the marshall saw to it that it sped up. That was the best. The course is grea and always a pleasure to visit.
Always good
Been here about 5 times this year and I’m liking it more every time. Front nine are tough.
Great track
Just love this course. Very challenging and great for any level of play. Always in great shape with a variety of holes. Makes for a great challenge.
Has stood the test of time!
Played this course dozens of times and have never been disappointed. For late February it was in very good condition and the greens were receptive and rolled well. Some easy birdie holes and some real tough ones which any good layout should have. In the words of the terminator, " I'll be back".

5 stars all around! Great course, great staff, great day! I did not want my round to end. We will be back very soon!
Great course- painful pace
Great course, but avoid on the weekends. Way too slow, and no marshals so clearly management doesn’t care to even try and manage pace of play. Also allow private carts, so pro shop has zero control of play
Avery range
Nice layout. A lot of interesting hole, a lot of different hole so you hit many different shots. The course and green we’re in good condition. Pace of play was slow.
One of my Favorite Courses
I am a below average golfer but still love this course. The wildlife, views and overall look of the course is outstanding. The pro shop staff is always friendly and informative.
Cart personnel are friendly when they come around .
The bar and food are surprising not expensive as it would seem.
I have a love hate feel for the 7th hole. My favorite because of the view from the tee box and the fairway. My hate because I just cant seem to beat the challenging hole.
Good golf course
Good layout, flow and overall golf course. Only reasons not to give a straight 5 start review is because of the lack of drinks cart and especially the amazing amount of garbage you find when you go a little bit out of the course. i.e. when looking for a gol Ball oob
GREAT!
For the price to play in the “winter” was amazing! Was on vacation from NJ and was worth every dime. If you’re going to play, you may be better off bringing your clubs as opposed to renting. The rental cost more than the green fee.
Great Course, but challenging.
Had a wonderful day playing golf on this tough course. It was cart path only, unfortunately, but still played in 4 hrs. Great greens.
