Golfer Reviews
The Course was great!
We had a fun day on Indian Canyon North! Got paired up with 2 fun guys. Would golf the course again.
Jay Bartsch
Older course, nice layout, but needs some TLC.
Could be the course it once was with the normal maintenance it was once given. Good value to get your game together.
A Must Play
One of the original Palm Springs courses, you can feel the history from the moment you walk through the building filled with photos of Bob Hope and all the big stars and industry titans of the day. The course design is solid throughout as it meanders amidst old palm trees, water hazards and Palm Springs houses that are frozen in time. No Toll Brothers here. The greens are excellent, as were all five of the 3-par holes. Overall condition might not be what you find on many other area courses but still in nice shape...pace of play was brisk...and staff was friendly and most accommodating. Looks like off-course amentities have been moved to the south course clubhouse across the street, which is sad as it's such a great old building, but there is a snack cart that came by frequently. If you're a fan of Cochella Valley golf this is a must play for a great price.
Great Greens & Views
The North Course is a step down from the South Course... but well worth the $35 we paid as a Hot Deal!
The Greens were in perfect condition and the setting of the course captures some spectacular views of the mountains.
The Faitrways need some work as they did not appear to have been over-seeded this fall.
If you're looking to warm up and knock the ball around while taking in a great day of sun... this is a great track.
$55 is my top price to play...
Loved the history of this course
Very enjoyable. Will return
I C North
Great day for golf. Fairways did not have great summer. Lots of bare patches. Grass is coming back however. Greens were fair but not as nice as last year at this time.
Still a nice way to spend 3.5 hrs. Moved along at a good pace.
What's happening to this previously beautiful course?
Have played here numerous times over the years, but this season it seems the ground staff are doing only a very basic maintenance. Large areas of dead grass and bare earth. Such a shame.
Stunning views
A very beautiful setting , every hole has great views of the surrounding San jacinto moutains shooting out of the ground to frame the course and valley perfectly.
The course itself was in good shape a few of the fairways on the back nine were not as lush as the other holes so I gave the condition rating a good only. That's the only criticism I can offer. The greens were true and like glass.
I highly recommend this course.
Gone downhill
This used to be one of my favorite courses down in Palm Springs....not as pretty as the south course but I think the layout is more interesting. When I played here two years ago the Greens/fairways were immaculate.... This year even some shots that found fairway there wasn't grass to speak of. I'd recommend to a friend if they start taking care of it, not sure if the south course is seeing similar issues or not as we didn't want to chance another round in poor conditions. It was to the point the fairways were nearly unplayable....no fringe cut around the Greens, though the Greens themselves were in great shape and ran true.
Disappointing
Although we knew this course was not the same caliber as the South course we were very disappointed. The "special rate" due to the poor conditions still didn't compare to other courses for the same money. The restaurant wasn't open. No carts were allowed to return to the parking lot.
So sad!!
Sad!! Staff was great...both of them!! It's like the course is shutting down, and they don't want to spend anytime or money on the course. So disappointed!! I hope the City Of Palm Springs steps in and does something, there's too much history here to let it go like they are.
Best round of the week
This was a very established and well managed course. Though there were obviously members playing we did not feel like outsiders. Nice fair layout, but could be tough if you spray the ball, duh. Enough water and rough to keep your attention. The course was seeded for winter and in good shape.
it should not have opened yet
The course had no ball washers,no yardage markers that you could find,as you were not allowed on the fairways. It was not advertised as c.p.o. on golfnow. It just opened 2 days before we played. The fairways were not in playing condition & no cart paths to drive on,just rough that was 6 inches of grass. Hard to find a ball in that mess.It was WORTHABOUT 25.00 FOR THE ROUND,NOT WHAT GOLFNOW CHARGED FOR A HOT DEAL.
i WILL NEVER PLAY IT AGAIN.
Worst shape ever
This used to be won of my favorite courses in the desert. What happened?
Decent value
A little rough around the edges but overall decent value
