The Club at Emerald Hills

This course has the conditions of a $20 muni course, high south Florida prices and very poorly maintained. If you aren’t from the South Florida area you’d be surprised to see it’s not really a golf area. If you want a good golf experience, course conditions and customer service alike, I recommend the west palm and Orlando areas. Miami/Broward doesn’t offer much unless you’re in the market for a membership at a prestigious private club.

Clearly this golf course had its golden years. It’s a beautiful and challenging course, but very poorly kept. Besides the poor conditions of the course, it was frustrating that although I asked if the course was packed, I was told that it was pretty relaxed and that I was going to be able to play 18 holes by myself, and that I would finish before the sunset. That was all true during the first 7 holes. Then I catch up with the rest of the players and it was impossible to move. By 5:50 pm I was still on the 11th hole. I grabbed my stuff and left. There was no one with whom I could complaint. First and last time at that course.

All the above are very good for the club level golfer but too challenging for beginners. All in all a great round with very good conditions and interesting layout. Fees are reasonable for a course of this quality.

Cart girl Cathy went above and beyond her duties to assist me. Not only was she a pleasure to deal with on the course, she assisted me in my license retrieval after I had left it behind. She was off the clock and made sure I was able to get it after the course had closed in order for me to be able to get on a flight home.

Bartenders are cool, pro shop guy was ok, cart guy was kinda rude and aggressive the bald one with glasses. Cart girls are typical rude south Florida women. Overall not bad. Upset they raised there afternoon rate to over 50$ for sub par conditions. Compared to other public courses in area it’s good though. You can only expect so much in soflo. They closed other nice courses in Broward.

Friendly staff but carts not clean or with towels and tees. Should have at asked price. On course washrooms were filthy!!! Condition of course just OK. The back nine was a nice layout versus the front so saved the day. We would only recommend this course if cannot find others.

Bottom line…. Just gets a passing grade.

Tee boxes were shameful and greens were brutal! Played here many times……this was the worst

Limited public course options, this is a poor one. Course/clubhouse will be demolished and redone (taken private) soon. Course was in bad shape and played slow. Outdoor staff was rude and aggressive but apologized.

Save your money and play somewhere else, lesson learned the hard way.
