The Club at Emerald Hills

I enjoyed the course. Greens were spectacular. Tee times were messy as we had to wait 20+ minutes on the first tee. Overall I enjoyed the course and would definitely play again.

The course has an awesome layout, challenging holes, great greens but the pace of play is terrible. A local that was playing behind us told us that is always how it is. The started, who was very friendly, asked if we were ready and sent us out to the first tee. When we go to the tee there was a 2some that had just teed off, a foursome on the tee box and us as a 2some. When we were ready to tee off, we looked behind us and there was a 3some and foursome waiting. Never once seen a ranger and the local said they just don't care about the pace of play. If they fixed that issue, I would have given this course 5 stars across the board.

This is a classic Bruce Devlin/ Robert Von Hagge design that has stood the test of time. It is a classic Florida layout. Be forwarned - chose the appropriate tees as this is a very challenging course with very high slope ratings from the various tees.

It is a good test of golf. Decent length holes. Challenging greens. Good condition.

Really great layout in a PUD. Water in play 50% of holes. forced Carries on many holes…tough greens in great shape. Okay range. Nice post game drink spot. Love going there every year

First time playing this course. The large, old-school clubhouse had an aroma of mothballs, taking my mind back to my Grandmothers home. Pretty obvious the clubhouse is getting little, if any, attention and is in need of significant updates.

After check in I got a bag of ball for warm up. The balls were horrendous - majority were very worn and half were caked with dried dirt - the worst I’ve ever experienced. For the price they charge is it too much to expect them to be clean?? Driving range was decent. Most of the carts had ripped/torn seats and mine sounded like the steering wheel was about to fall off.

As for the golf, I was impressed with the course layout. It was well contoured, challenging, and in pretty good shape. Bunker sand was soft. Greens were also in good shape despite the fact few people repaired their ball marks. Some of the greens had significant sloping with a few pin placements resulting in balls rolling well off the green and, on 2 occasions, into water after not terrible putts.

Overall a pretty good experience on the course and below average for everything else.

This course is challenging. I'm a 7 handicapper and I'm playing way over my handicap. Greens are undulating, water everywhere, windy, and it's a very long course. Bring extra golf balls.

Dining closes early so don't expect to eat dinner there.

As much as I hate to echo many reviews I've read about slow play....5 hour rounds are too much! Granted, the course is very long and the only forward (shorter) tee options for men put them right on top of the ladies tees (which they won't do). Next tee back is over 6000 and a lot of carry shots off tees. We were joined by two men and it was a continual hunt for their balls. The course is in very good shape....the greens are fast but fun! We were very disappointed that the driving range wasn't open. There should be some sort of discount when this happens because one seems to spend the first several holes just trying to warm up....and the golf suffers. Not fun.
