Very impressed! WE also played Cypress on Friday because we were that impresed!
Great Course
Everything was really good...course in nice shape...Friendly staff... only complaint the course needs to have a ranger to move people along...I have played this course and the Cypress as well a number of times and will continue to do so in the future
Oaks is always a pleasure
Fun course - fairways a bit thin in places but overall good condition. Greens excellent- as always.
Racist beverage lady
My 2 friends and I play palm air on a regular basis.
So when I was going to be in ft Lauderdale for a few days I booked a tee time for the 3 of us . Big mistake on my part . As it turned out the course was packed so the pace of play was very slow after several holes we called the pro shop to see if there was a beverage cart that day within 10 mins the lady arrived.
We ordered 2 bears 3 snickers bars and 2 bags of pretzels the lady asked for $19..00 we gave her 24 she left .
15 or so minutes later she showed up again claiming we had ripped her off and that we owed her another $6.00 I asked how we had ripped her off as she was the one that told us the price .
She said nothing so we paid her the $6.00 that's when she decided to go into a rant about how I should go back to England and my Friend should also go back to Arab land my reply was simple.
After you go back to school for maths aa you clearly cannot add up simple arithmetic you should also take an English class as it's Arabia not Arab land .
Then I called the pro shop to complain the manager said he would speak with the beverage lady and get back to me .
One week later nothing even though I've called twice more so I am now writing this review to let everyone know how we were treat.
Not very well unfortunately
Worst Customer Experience of Any Course
Terrible experience. 45 minute wait for a cart so started 45 mins later then reserved. Took another 45 mins to play the first two holes. The 3rd tee box had four foursomes on it.
We called the clubhouse from the course and asked for a refund since it was an untenable situation. They said no refunds so we returned to the clubhouse to discuss. We found Ray to be inflexible and not customer friendly and a rain check for someone from a different country is not useful.
Overall a terrible experience for an average course. Would definitely not recommend to anyone.
Extremely slow play
We played 8 holes in 2 hours and 55 minutes, that was the end of the round....what supposed to be 18....
Not only were they way behind on the T time sheet, but they packed people out, when we came to the first T it was three (3) groups , all 4-some's .
Terrible phase of play, no starter nor ranger to monitor phase of play.
Unless you are ok with a 6 hour 18 holes round of golf I would not recommend this place during the weekend..
Great course for the money
The greens were in nice shape. Course had seen a lot of rain so it was a little mushy but for the cost, a great value. Nice overall facilities, many tee options so better players can move back if they want.
So so
We played one of the first groups out. No food or coffee available. The course was fine, a few bare spots but the greens were in good shape. Nothing memorable about this course. If you are heading to Florida for a few rounds this might be a good first course to get loose before playing some of the nicer area courses like Jacaranda.
Excellent Course
Equally challenging and forgiving, fairways and greens in good condition and good variety of holes.
Great time
Did not have food we all had a great time Good beer cart great. We played other course very wet and had to stay on cart paths last few day this course was dry and we could drive to our balls on most holes. Will be going back
Good available Course(s)
Good course to play, its challenging enough,, but not difficult. Decent shape, Quite a bit of water, mostly along the holes, not so much on approaches.
Unfortunately, we played it after a few days of heavy, I mean heavy rain,. So it was very soggy, paths only and none to little roll. But it looked like it could be much better in dryer weather. Greens were still quick enough... even when wet.
I'll play it again, it has decent golf and at a devcent price.
palm aire
The course is in moderate condition. greens could have been in better shape. Not a bad course for money.
One of the best Value Courses in the Area
The staff greeted us promptly and were friendly. The driving range is off mats and you hit balls into a long pond (driving range and clubhouse is shared with the Cypress course). Tee boxes were quite level and in good shape. Fairways were a bit soft, but that is despite some heavy recent rains - there was only one roped off section in one fairway, and no cart restrictions. No shots require you to carry water, but there is water along the fairways in several places. Rough is fluffy - so expect your ball to sink into it. Sand traps were in the best shape of any of the value ($25-35) courses we played. Greens were in very good shape, quick, and rolled well, although with less break than you think. The turn does not take you back by the clubhouse, so double up on your ice water before teeing off, and it can be a bit confusing keeping track of the holes as you drive around due to several intersections on the cart paths. Still, the three Palm-Aire courses were the best courses we played in November, even after the recent rains.
solid
I have played this course as my 'home' course for 5 years. It is fun and the conditions are good. The number 10 hole is one of the most difficult in Broward County.
Very nice course
I was booked on the Oaks course. But when I got there I was told that I would have to wait to play there even though I had a tee time. So do not know what went wrong there. I was given the option of playing the Cypress course which I did. I started off as a single but quickly joined a twosome on the 4th hole. The course is in good shape and pace of play was good. However what contributed to that pace was playing the first 3 holes is less than a half hour.
Very well marked course!
First time playing this course and it's one of the best marked courses I've played. The course was in very good shape as long as you stayed on the fairway, the rough, where I was a lot, was not easy to come out of. Only negative was the beer girl was out of Budlight......what? But she went and replenished her stock and brought it to us! Look forward to playing it again.
NIce Course, Fair Price!
Only a few minor issues. First, the starter forgot us. He kept sending people to the first tee, but skipped my group twice and we were right there next to him. We were only about 10 minutes late getting started.
Second, the tee boxes for most of the holes were in poor shape, a lot of divots and poor footing.
Third, the fairways and greens were in great shape, but even the first cut of rough was too long. You could lose a ball in the first cut (couldn't see it).
Overall, course was very nice, moderately challenging and we never felt rushed.
Challenging course.
I have played ths course many times, to include 2 days prior to yesterdays round. I was booked for yesterday at another course but we had a lot of rain Wednesday and most courses around were unplayable. Palm Aire courses, especially Cypress is one of the better draining courses around and there were no restrictions and we were able to play a full round, except for the par 3, sixth hole, which we skipped due to a very slow 5some in front of us. Apparently a 2some and 3some combined to form a slow moving 5some. Need rangers to eliminate problems such as this, otherwise, highly recommend this course.
Nice round of Golf
We enjoy playing the Palm Aire courses! They are kept up rather nicely, the surrounding grounds are nice and neat. The greens were aerated a few weeks ago and had sand on them to temporarily smooth them out. They putted a little slow but just fine as far as I'm concerned. Depending on the tee used it has all the length you need. The further back you go the tougher it gets. I played the green tees which was 6370 yards and most of the time I had mid to long irons approaching the greens. My drives are not that long, only 220-230. Seemed all shots were shorter down here, maybe the humidity knocks the ball down more.
Awful Service
I signed up for a 6pm tee time with GolfNow, already knowing I would get maybe 9 holes in when teeing off that late. When I arrive a few minutes before 6pm, I find the pro shop closed and two caddies asking, "what I'm doing". I told them I had a 6pm tee time, and they went on to say I'm a "rude customer for not showing up 15 minutes before my tee time" and "you would only get 15 minutes of play anyways" when our sun sets after 7pm here. They then say I'll have to handle my $45 no show fee with GolfNow.
Hands down, the worst I've ever been treated at a course. I'm following up with a complaint to management at the course as well.
I'm sorry you had such a tough experience with your first round here at Palm Aire. I remember speaking to a representative from our phone center about this situation. We checked the time logs for this day and found the Pro-shop staff had clocked out at 6:30 as usual. I can't foresee how we weren't able to accommodate your late round and apologize for your experience. Please know we attempt to be as flexible as possible in hosting golf rounds but would love to have you book an earlier start time to take full advantage of our club services. Kind regards, Brent Bender
Excellent observations on the atmospheric affect our weather has on the golf ball! We're so pleased you enjoyed your round and trust you'll be back to try some of the other tracks here at Palm Aire!!!
