Lack of support staff
During my round there was no sight of a ranger. The group ahead of us were three holes behind the group in front of them. This resulted in a five hour plus round.
During these five plus hours there was no sight of a cart girl
The bag drop process is a joke
TOP TIER!
Best course I have played at in South FL. Fairways perfect, green perfect and fast, lay out is great. Pace was perfect, not waiting and no one waiting on us. Staff was great, good ammenities. Maybe just need a new beverage cart. Overall 10/10, highly recommend.
Many issues
The pace of play was absolutely the worst I had in years. Many slow players but that can be expected sometimes. The main issue for playing 14 holes in almost 4 hours is they set up roped off areas far out blocking carts and causing players to play extra slowly. I understand that they must protect the course in certain areas but this was ridiculous having them all over for no reason.
Three Canucks
The course layout presents a decent challenge. The pace of play was poor. We played three days in a row and did not complete any of the rounds under 4:45.
Good value, but….
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in good shape. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was not good. Paid for 18, could only play 9.
Very Good Course
Course is in good shape, greens were fast, held high shots well. Good variety in the holes. Some challenging holes. Was slow - would have appreciated seeing a marshal, drink cart showed up reularly
Pace and Conditions not good!
Not inclined to return again. The tee boxes very uneven with patches of grass and dirt, fairways decent as were greens. Pace of play about four hours, unacceptable, and paired with another couple that had us playing three different tee boxes. The starter we had, as before, wish I knew his name, is excellent. Efficient, professional and very nice.
In memory of a decent public course
As a local, in the profession, and long-time patron, I’ve played here consistently for years—often multiple times per week, including through the slower summer months. The convenience and accessibility have always made it an easy place to get out and play.
Over time, however, the pace of play and overall tee sheet management have noticeably declined. It often feels like the course is stretched beyond a comfortable capacity, which takes away from what used to be a much more enjoyable and predictable experience.
That said, I want to personally recognize and thank Tom, Jeff, and Andrew on the outside staff, along with Juan behind the bar. They are the primary reason I’ve continued to come back over the years. Their professionalism, work ethic, and consistent positive attitude do not go unnoticed. They represent the course extremely well and create a welcoming environment that keeps locals like myself returning despite other pitfalls by management.
As someone who works in the golf industry, I understand how challenging public course operations can be. I hope the facility continues to support and retain staff like them, as they are a tremendous asset and make a meaningful difference in the overall experience. However, with the recent state of events and management, I can no longer continue to support Palm Aire CC.
