Worst golf course I have ever played
Course was in horrible condition. Only grass was on the greens, and those look like they have not been mowed in a week. Owners should be sued for false advertising when you look at their website.
Drought must be tough
Sad condition. This could be a beautiful course with a 5 million investment

Close this course
This course needs to be totally redone. The fairways are more brown and patchy than green. The tees are no more than mounds of dirt. This course needs a MAJOR facelift or just close it down.

They’ve given up
The course looked like a desert all the fairways was dirt and dead grass. All of them. I would not have played if I hadn’t already paid. I felt ripped off.

Unique challenge
We quit playing this course a couple of years ago when the greens became unplayable. They were half dirt, half weeds, virtually unputtable.It is a different story now as the greens are healthy and smooth although a bit slow the day we played.
The rest of the course is obviously getting no water, probably the future of golf in the west. If you don't geek out on course conditions and play winter rules we actually had fun. A different kind of challenge to be sure.
One suggestion, the fairways are so bright yellow it is hard to see white golf balls, so colored balls might be a good idea.

Don’t do it
I’m quite certain this golf course is closed and there’s just a random guy sitting in there taking money to see who will show up. This is the worst conditions I’ve ever experienced on a golf course. The only plus was finding random balls in the middle of fairway because the white balls blend in with the white-ish sand / dirt covered “fairway”.

Worst course in San Diego County
NOT A COUNTRY CLUB.
Like previous statements, this place was terrible. Checked in at 1045, can in on the turn and departed the round about 245. Every time I found the pro shop attendant (if you can call it a pro shop, couple of sleeves and a glove with way over priced "food" and beer) sleeping. Worst experience ever. The only good to this place was....a stretch...the greens are actually green, other then that tee boxes full of holes and dirt.
Don't waste your money, pay the extra $10-$30 and play somewhere else. More enjoyable.
Heck, to be honest, anyone can walk on grab a cart and play. No one will know.

Horrible conditions
I have played this course numerous times in the past. I was living out of state for 3 years and just moved back to San Diego. Met a friend for a casual round. Looks like no water has been applied to fairways in months. I drove 30 minutes north and my friend 30 south to play, so we went ahead and tee’s off. Dead fairways, weeds in “sand” traps, I use “sand” loosely, dirt traps is better. Greens were very green and spongy. Only redeeming item. Save your money, play anywhere else.

No good
I hate to say it but this course has gone way downhill from what I can see. The greens are the only thing green at this course. Dirt fairways and gopher holes everywhere. I hope GolfNow takes this course off the app. I was completely misled and wish I had read more reviews. I only made it to hole 13 before I had enough. If they can get the fairways fixed this has potential to be a decent course.

Get this course off of GolfNow
The course is dead. Don’t even bother. We booked, thinking it will by playable, but upon driving up, it looked like an abandoned field. Fortunately the dude that worked there gave me a number to call for GolfNow. To get a refund.

Horrible horrible condition
Highly encourage you to read the reviews before going to this course. The course is in horrible shape the fairways are garbage dirt. However the greens are in really nice shape. Staff said the pumps were down /broken and we’re unable to water the grass. This course would be amazing with some TLC landscaping. All the fairways on the entire course are brown/dead grass and are potted with gopher / squirrel holes. Many times we’d hit right down the middle of the fairway and lose the ball and a squirrel hole.
This course is not worth $50 on weekend, I would save the money and go to the driving range instead of this course.

Definite improvement
Played today. Had not been there in a couple years. Course is much improved over that time. Greens are better than I have seen them before at Castle Creek. Fairways are trimmed. Only lost one ball. Definite improvement.
