General Old Golf Course

I assumed the course had been aerated when I saw the discounted rate and that one-half of the course might be closed, which means I would probably have to play half the course twice to complete 18 holes. But I did not anticipate an hour delay to start the repeated of the first 9 holes because of a tournament that begins as I finished the first 9 holes. So I could not wait and finish an hour later, which would make me late for a previous appointment. I would not be as upset If I had not used my $15 credit. I"m hopeful that Golf Now will allow me to recover the credit.

With the high demand for golf these days, it would be nice to see General Old use the money they receive from many slow unmonitored golfers to keep up the course and facilities. Weak marshals only on their phones, a starter with no personality.

My review is based on playing I wide range of courses in varying conditions. Today this course was a great value, solid staff, okay course conditions. You get a great value for what your paying! If you want four to five star you’ll have to pay a lot more. The staff is friendly and the course condition is not horrible but not good. Descent course conditions and I feel on the edge of good. I would go back because if the staff and fair pricing for what you are buying.

Had a blast!! Course is in way better shape than I’ve been told and read about!! Will most likely play here again in the future!!

Greens as usual awesome! Course Iin ok shape. Rough a little dirt and heavy weeds. Still for the money love this course!

Tee time start of 10:19 was late by 20 mins. After a painful 3-hour long front nine, I quit, The course is fairly wide open and relatively easy - no reason for the slow play. No sign of marshals anywhere on course. Also allowed 5-somes to go out.

First time Play this course I had driven by it many times and I said I was going to play. My wife my friend and myself all enjoyed herself and I’m looking forward to playing another several rounds here at least. No employees are very friendly and helpful and that always makes a good experience I would recommend this course to all my friends to go try out. A little dry but that is understandable for the conditions we are doing with in today’s situation but it was never hurt experience there.

I went in Monday morning after being told I would be the first tee out (solo player). I get to the first tee and there’s a foursome already teeing up. They were nice and let me play ahead. I hurry to get out of their way just to find a 3 some at the green. Smh. So I wait and one hole later they let me play ahead. After that I moved fairly quick, nice straight forward holes. Finish front nine and SURPRISE!!! People Playing the back nine. I get that ppl are out and everyone has a certain pace but Jesus Christ , some ppl are ridiculous. Not the course fault for the way they play but they’re at fault for letting them play ahead of others that are out before them. Aside from the very slow players, the course is well taken care of and worth the 38 bucks. Would recommend as long as you’re vocal to slow players to let you play ahead or to hurry TF up. Lol
