General Old Golf Course

I think the fairways need some care to bring the coarse up to snuff the greens are excellent

Had a great time, it's a good test with some nice features on the par 5's, short holes are garded buy bunkers that give you a chance. The fairways are in winter form but are still nice, the greens are in great shape with hidden breaks, over it was a great golf day!

We played on a Friday morning , It was wide open , The green"s where in very good shape , Lot"s of green grass in all the fairway , Had a great time.

I made a reservation for a tee time around 12:30 pm during a week day. I arrived 20 mins. before. And I check in . After waiting for 30 mins after the tee time I went to the desk and the attendant why it takes so long. The attendant admitted that he forgot about me. When manager came to resolve the issue, she was extremely rude, asking where i had purchased green fee and treated me badly. She did not apologize and told me to join a group in seventh hole.

Have played there at least once a month for the last 5 years and the management just gets worse and worse. Always overbooking even with tournaments. Have to wait on ever shot, never a marshal on the course to keep the pace of play up. It's a shame because the course lay out isn't too bad.

If you want to play this course only go during the week, weekends are terrible.

The course is in good shape for winter grass.
The fairways look good but the green are great!
This time we played it two weeks in row, early morning 6:45 and it played easy but fun. Then a few holes will bite you.

The fairway are so dry, is not as great of a shape since I played last few month ago. I don not think they irrigate the course this time of the year, that is why it is so dry.

Overall good course, love the greens. Fairway was lacking some attention but not a deal breaker. Will definitely golf the course in the future. Early tee off I've found works best to avoid any slow in play. Really happy with the location and the surrounding scenery. If you don't stay on the fairway it can be easy to lose your ball. Also an easy course to walk due to the flat terrain. The carts and clubhouse have always been well maintained in the half dozen times I have played General Old. I've never used the range but it also along with the putting green looked in good shape

I think this course is fair for its price. Not a bad course at all. remember you get what u pay for.

Ever since I started playing General Old in 2006, its always been the same: affordable golf. Really nothing to complain about. Anything left or right of the fairway is trouble, although not by design; dirt roads and dried swamps surround the facility. As long as you keep it in the fairway, you'll enjoy your day out. I've played it three times in the last month and its in as good a shape as you're gonna see it. The greens are running smooth and the fairways are the usual light green with occasional yellow. A great fit for the average golfer looking to get in a quick round close to home.

Over all, a great place to swing the clubs. the price is very fair. Newer carts are a + and course seems to be in really good shape now that plugs have filled in on the greens. The old man was right, "Everything breaks to the runway". Only issue that i had. oddly enough, was with the snack bar lady. Just looking for a couple of dogs to settle the liquor belly, and was gruffly informed the grill was closed. This was at 3:20 in the afternoon. Assumed they would be open till at least 4-5:00. Fritos and cookies it is, I guess.

This course was somewhat of a disappointment. The fairways were in terrible shape. The greens were bumpy and slow. The actual design of the course was not bad but needs to be maintained better.

You can't beet this course for the money, I have played courses of this caliber for the twice the amount. It plays long from the blues and there are some fun T-shots. The greens are always plush but still fairly fast.

It was nice course and maintained well. People around were very friendly. We got stuck in traffic due to an accident and were a little late, and the host and other golfers were more than accommodating. No one held up anyone, and we all had fun.

We had a nice time golfing on this course. The greens were well maintained and the course was challenging enough to make it fun but not frustrating. The pace was pretty good for a Sunday afternoon. My only complaint is that they don't allow outside food and drinks, yet not once did anyone come around so we could buy some water or food. Despite this, I would golf at this course again.

I like the wide fairways on most holes. Greens were pretty good but some had some weird breaks because of aeration (say 3 weeks ago ?). Bunkers are dirt so impossible to keep ball close on short side. Good time of year to play because valley has less smog and good views.

Great price to golf a pretty decent course. But the staff is very rude
If you reserved a special rate they deem you suspicious as you might try to tee off ahead of your scheduled tee time.

GOT $20.00 DEAL ON GOLF NOW FOR A FRIDAY MORNING AND THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE. WE PLAY THERE AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH WITH OUR TRAVELING GROUP AND IT IS VERY ENJOYABLE!

This course has a simple but challenging layout. It has a little of everything to make for a fun day. Hit good shots and you have a chance to score. Hit bad shots and you could find yourself in a world of trouble.
