Good round to get hacks in.
The course was in fairly good shape however due to the recent rain there was a lot of standing water and wet areas. Drainage improvements are definitely in order on the front 9 holes.
Nice Course For the Money
Nice course to play for the money. Fun and challenging for a "bogey" golfer, like me. Probably too easy for better players. Fairways are generous and greens are challenging, but not overwhelming, for average golfers. I, seriously, drained a 70 footer for birdie on the 10th and my son drained a 25 footer for birdie on the same hole (our only birdies for the day, though). Course was in very good condition. The only negative (nothing to do with the course or staff - which was very friendly), was the weather. We got rained on pretty hard for the last 4 holes (:
Nice course. Slow play
Course was in good condition especially after the rains and the greens were running very well. The only complaint would be the slow play. A 4 some 2 groups in front of us was consistently slow and the marshalls really did nothing to speed them up......Other than that it was a great deal the day after Christmas and nice course to play....
Fun inexpensive course in San Diego area
Course was a little wet from rain but overall in playable condition. If your looking to get out and just play some golf, this is a fun place to play. Just stay out of the kikuyugrass. Overall your not going to get great lies in any area. Greens are smooth if early tee time and reasonable speeds. Cheap fun golf if budget is your preference.
Bring your game.
Great course tucked away next to Cowles Mountain. There are plenty of birdie opportunities but you must work with the dog legs and the gullies on the course on the front nine. On the back nine bring the big stick and position yourself for along iron or fairway wood. The green are a little tricky and need a little maintenance but that could be solve with some player help. Overall this is a great course. Have fun and hit them straight.
The course layout is fun
This is my favorite course in the county. Great value. Reachable Par 4's and 5's. Course is fairly wide open with the exception of two holes on the back nine. Love the elevated greens on hole 9 and 18. In all great course and very friendly staff. Thanks
This survey doesn 't work. I can't move the sliders to where I want to.
I like Mission Trails. It is challenging and well maintained. But you still you need to fix this survey.
Fun course
Play this course about once a week, and always enjoy it. Most the time it's busy and then it's a 5 hour round. Marshall's need to try and pick up the pace and keep the riff raff off the course.
Greens in good shape
Pace of play was under 4 hours.Ambassadors were friendly.Shape of greens has really improved and are very consistent from hole to hole.Course in good shape.
Open and forgiving but s-l-o-w
Good: Greens were super-receptive to shots. Found the greens that are shaded at this time of year are significantly slower than those in the sun (that's my excuse for 3-putting #3, and I'm sticking to it!) Open and forgiving layout. Significant elevation changes on some tees necessitates the use of the right club on a number of tees. Fun stuff right there.
Bad: A 10:22 tee-time actually went off at 10:45. Pace of play was slow, with our group being the 3rd at some tees. Be prepared to wait.
I'd recommend this course only with the understanding that it requires patience with the pace of play.
Like to play there....
I'm ready to go back.....have some friends that will play with me.......
The course greens were in good shape !
I was very dispointed I took the friday off to play and booked our tee time at 12:35 pm. when I checked in they said they were running about 20 min behind. We waited at every hole and noticed there was no Marshal to speed the play along we had a group ahead of us the took there time we only got to the 14th hole and did not finish because of darkness.
Difficult greens challenging course.
Mission Trail golf course playing well, the greens are difficult to read, and they are fast. The 18th is the only hole that is not fast. When I talked to staff about providing a veggie option, staff said they would not ask management for a vegetable option. I informed my playing partner and he said he asked staff for an egg salad or cheese sandwich and also ignored his request. So, bring your lunch. The course does have plenty of water to drink.
Fun easy practice game course
The course played quick, it was almost empty when we were out there. The course had to many ground hazards which was ok because of the rain the previous days. The sand traps were something less to be desired. The tee boxes were just destroyed, they should have noticed that and adjusted. There was no open area to place a tee shot, you were going to be in the trash regardless of what you did.
Great course for the money. Good deals to be had on golfnow.
The only reason that I am writing this review is because I shot my lowest round ever in my life. The course was is good shape, not great shape. The fairways were ok to good, but if in the rough, you were lucky to have any grass at all. The positive side the greens were great, very smooth and receptive to good shots. I commend them on their greens. Great day!
Course is fairly short and not too difficult and price is reasonable.
Mission Trails is an adequate golf course that has some interesting holes. The greens are usually in pretty good shape but some of the fairways need work. The on course rangers do a good job interacting with the golfers.
Loved the experience
Nice course and conditions and great value. Did not like the starter allowing 5somes out in front of us though - slowed play.
wonderful
alittle dry in places needs water, other area`s to much water alittle soft, greens were wonderful , very nice at pro shop help get us out alittle early very nice of them to do that!!!!
This course requires better management.
On a Monday AM tee time; my three-some was behind a four-some, and it took us 5 hrs and 45 minutes to play 18 holes. The four-some ahead of us was teeing off from the blue tees, and they were truly awful hackers. Also they had carts, and played one ball at a time. We talked to the ambassadors several times, but they did not do anything until the 17th hole (on the 17th hole they told them to pick up the pace a little - ??). It was truly an awful experience. I live only a few minutes from the course, but I am not sure if I will ever play this course again.
Challenging course. Requires good course management.
Nice course. Has some pretty short holes, but they require good course management. High risk/reward. Shot my best score ever for 9 holes on the front. Found the back to be more challenging. I like the course because most of the holes don't require really long shots to reach the greens in regulation, which is good for my game, but it still presents a good challenge for me.
