Friars/Presidio at Riverwalk Golf Club

Wow. The golf course is a mess. Greens are pretty decent, but the conditions of the rest of the course is not good, at all. The only reason why I played this incredibly overpriced golf course is that I found a hot deal for $55. The other two people we played with paid close to $130, so they definitely got ripped off. This conditions of this course do not warrant anything over $100 let alone what they are charging these days. What a rip off. Will never play this course for over $60 because that’s about what it is worth. A lot of courses in San Diego are out of their minds with what they are charging these days and this is one of them!

Friendly staff. Course it's in fair condition, greens looked good but slow. Pace of play, ridiculous. No marshall. Tee'd off at 6:20am finish at 10:45am. No more than 3 groups on course at tee off and a 2 some in front of my 4 some made us wait all day... Snack bar is biggest cluster ever.. ordered and paid via app on 9 tee, waited and played par 5 ninth hole then waited 20 more min at snack bar and left without sandwich I paid for cause I had to tee off or have group behind us play through. Saturday mornings are busy, staff accordingly!

I booked an early tee time 0530 hoping to get a round in on my birthday but when I showed up I was informed my tee time was bumped to allow a foursome to start inplace of me and who ever else wanted to get out that early.

I feel the counter person was rude and not forth coming with a valid reason.

I was forced to cancel because any delay in completing a round early enough was now in jeopardy this do to other obligations after my anticipation finish time.

I will never step foot at this course again!!!

The course was beautiful, well maintained and open but still challenging.

Had the 5:50am tee time and expected to breeze through the course but the pace of play by the 12 hole was back up two groups. That was not necessarily the course’s fault but that we had a groupd taking too many shots.

Would definitely recommend this course

This course has gotten ridiculously expensive with no new amenities for the customers to enjoy. The only thing that changed was the price. Your prices needs to reflect some discounts that the customer can benefit from. I'm sure your attendance is down because of your green fees. Look around your pro shop and see how much is being purchased out of there. I would say, it's minimum or almost nothing in some months. These are the things I'm talking about. LOWER YOUR GREEN FEES!!

Best shape I’ve seen Riverwalk in years Noticeable improvement in all areas I believe a little pricey w the $32 add on for a cart make the round $156 but overall a great experience and I’m happy see the course improve as it was needed Great job !

Short and sour. We gave up waiting on tee 13. After the first five holes we were backed up waiting to tee off I would say 8 to 12 minutes on every hole. With a cool breeze it just wasn't pleasant. My personal opinion is they also scheduled a tournament involving 3 High Schools. It seemed like a zoo... Sure didn't get my monies worth. I went in and let them know how I felt. This course would be worth the $100.49 for 18 holes (walking) on a Friday if it had better fairway conditions. I’m sure the grounds crews work hard on this course but the fairways have been muddy, straight up dirt, or plugged with the remnants just sitting on the grass. Not worth the money until the fairways improve.

Officially my last round of golf here. They raised the prices again $130+ right after aerating all the greens. Played 4 holes in 1.5 hours (that’s 6.5 hour pace) and walked off for probably the tenth time due to pace which they never do anything about.

Greens are recovering and not it good shape which is fair but don’t charge more?? Fairways are dry dirt, tee boxes aren’t mowed, and generally in terrible shape.

There are about 7 other courses in a 20 mile radius that are cheaper, better shape, and more fun. I don’t write reviews but I’ve been playing here for two years and I can’t f stand the place.

Course was 5 stars on a beautiful SD cloudy day all day. i was a single and was paired up with three strangers. By the end of the round you would have thought we had played together before. My best enjoyable of round of golf in years. Thanks Sincerely to Riverfront for the perfect set up and Thanks to RJ. John and Glen. Hope to run into you guys again. And last a Big Happy Bday to John turning 40 today..

is it worth paying premium prices for a course that isn’t in premium condition? no. is it worth paying premium prices for a 5 hour round? absolutely not. take your money elsewhere this place stinks
