Friars/Presidio at Riverwalk Golf Club

It's a work in progress here and there, but still a nice place to play. Pace was nice on a weekday. Greens were a good speed. 17 may seem short but take extra to get over the river. Had a pleasant group to go around with which made the day.......

The course is under maintenance to repair much needed tee boxes and fairways (thank you Riverwalk) but we still paid regular price while the course is torn up. Also, many fairways are a sloppy mess which makes it impossible to hit your ball out of the mud. This course needs to fix their drainage problems. .

Great layout and water features. Maintenance is obviously being performed . Many fairways are fine but others have large bare spots. Greens are in very good shape. Daily afternoon breeze/wind will affect shots but is welcome relief on warm/hot days. River crossing shots (including the first hole drive) are challenging.

We had a 4some in front of us that were hitting extra balls off the tee. They were extremely slow. We really wish you had had a marshal. We played twilight and didn't even get the chance to finish. Was an expensive 6holes. Where is the marshal?!

Back nine took 2.5 hours But course in good and greens are in good shape

I played here on a weekday afternoon. The course wasn't really crowded, but there were a number of ridiculously slow groups in front of us. There wasn't a marshal in sight and course management does nothing to help maintain a decent pace of play.

Course was too crowded, even for twilight golf. Had 3 hours and only got 9 holes in. Hoped for 12. Staff was great but limited - only two guys to cover carts and starter function. They needed 1-2 more staff members.

The greens were excellent but other players didn’t repair their divots - which is sad.

The golf cart ran out of battery on the 17th hole (not the first time). It was almost night, so I took my stuff out in the dark and walked back to the clubhouse.

Later that day I realized I forgot my wallet in the golf cart (it was black, so I didn't see with the poor light).

I went to pick it up the next day to find out my money and all my credit cards were taken from the wallet.

Great location, have played for years more than a decade ago and was in town so tried it again. Good condition, greens are in great shape. It’s a pity it will be torn down to make room for more buildings. Sad to lose a local course that is reasonably priced with easy access to so many.

We had a great time! Staff was super nice… brought us a new cart when our battery started dying on hole 15. 😀
