Great day in the sun. Photo submitted by DinoSheardown on 04/27/2020
Beautiful course
I cant wait to play this course again. It's expensive, but beautiful. If you don't want to pay the $98 then I would go for pacific palms, or diamond bar.
Beautiful Course, Friendly Staff
The scenery at Coyote Hills is amazing. Beautiful views from so many of the tee boxes.
As somewhat of a beginner, I normally play from the white tees, but it should be noted that the white tees here are much more forward than I am used to. I ended up playing about 7 or 8 holes from the blue tees to try to equate my game with what I've found to be more typical.
The staff here was great. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I had some issues with their system when booking my tee time that required me to call the course several times to make corrections. I didn't think it was a big deal, but the gentleman in the pro shop had the issue noted, and so he was quick with an apology and offered me a discounted greens fee.
All in all, playing here was a great experience, and I can't wait to come back next time I find myself in SoCal.
Has potential
Great layout and definitely challenging especially from tips. The course has some nice views. The conditions were average but not great. Many of the Greens had pocks and divots in them. Making many putts have to take a bumpy ride. Fairways were in OK shape with some patches of dead grass but that is expected due to the lack of rain. Overall the course has some great potential however for almost $100 a round I expected a little better condition especially on the greens. Also there could have been more signage directing those playing time. A conveniently located course between OC and LAX.
Course Has Serious Potential
Greens rolled perfectly but were a tad bit slow. First time playing the course and could tell the course has serious potential. Being that we are in a drought I understand the lack of water throughout the course and why it is a little brown. Overall layout is plush and challenging however and I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to work on shot shaping and short iron shots.
A tight target golf course
A great course for everyone with multiple tee boxes lots of sand and water. Bring an extra sleeve of golf balls. Noticed crews working on adding drainage pipes in sand traps and refilling with new sand. Good upkeep.
Good value of money if you get a deal
First time played here 4/17/2015. The course is short from the middle tee, somewhat around 5500 yards. The facility is really nice this including the club house, practice range, restaurant.
It is definitely easy to tell that the course design is well crafted, with challenging layout, narrow fairway and tough greens. The thing that makes me think it is not worth playing 70+ is the condition of the course. Fairways and most of the tee boxes are hard as rock. I literally had a shank tee shot because the hard ground knocked my club out of my hand.
Would prefer Black Gold with similar price.
Hidden Gem
Great Course, Great Prices, Pace of play sometimes is off. but for the price, i guess its ok. hard to finish 18 holes if played after 3:30pm. But one of the best courses around.
Great course
Very nice course...always moved at a good pace and was decently challenging, but still do-able for an amateur. The greens were punched, and that is the only reason I gave the course a 3. Outside of that, very fun course and I will play it again.
Good course overall
Overall fun course, good fairway conditions, very nice staff. Ridiculous greens, heard a few other golfers complain as well. Add at least 3 more strokes but otherwise interesting course. Good time management
Player Freindly
Having joined the Players Club I had expected the pace of play to suffer with all the new players.
Luckily, that has not occurred. I booked the first available spot at Super-twilite and showed up to find out there was a tournament. Instead of being left out in the cold, the GM worked to get my twosome out. Despite being surrounded by a tourney, we finished in under 4 hours. Awesome job. Well done, Coyote staff!
This course was in great shape.
Even for a very hot and dry day the greens held and was able to go after it.
course of two halves
Very scenic front 9 followed by a much more tactical back 9. Paired up with a local guy who knew the course and had a great round. Pace of play was OK, but quite a lot of waiting on Tees, round was approx. 4 3/4 hours, but would still rate the course and service 5 out of 5.
Played course again on the Sunday with later (12.15) tee time, another enjoyable day and got around in about 4 hours. Some stunning looking holes on front nine, worth taking a few pictures.
It was a bad experiance
Very slow play, Marshall was sleeping tucked away on the 11th hole, too many under skilled golfers on the course with no courtesy.
The course was ok
I liked the layout, however the condition of traps, fairways were ok at best. For this type of course, a price closer to $55 would be more appropriate considering the condition
Bang for the buck
Well worth the money. Tight course but the breakfast, lunch and drink tix are perfect!
sad
fairway and greens condition was very poor for the amount my friends and I paid for our round. had been waiting a long time to play this course.
Past its heyday
I have always heard about this course so my friend and I decided to try it. It appears it may have been a great course at one time but is now past its heyday.
Great Time
First thing I noticed was the staff was very friendly and welcoming... I arrived at 640 for my 720 tee time and was informed of a special for 2 dollars more I got a bunch of stuff for free. Sometimes golf courses don't treat golf now people with a lot of attention. Practiced, my playing partner had two noshows and pace of play for a group of 2 in the middle of a bunch of 4 was great 4 hours. My group could have been done in 3 but 4 hours nowadays is a good time. Conditions were good, landscape is incredible and elevations were breathtaking. (I'm from the east coast so not used to this) overall very good time.
Coyote Hills
Way too slow pace of play with no apparent Marshal efforts or presence to keep play on pace.
Great views from and of the course
We played as a twosome and got off at 12:40. The pace was good for the front but slow for the back. Played the round just over 4 ½ hours but felt longer.
The conditions overall were great. The odd low spot here and there were it was wet but overall nothing to complain about especially from us here in Edmonton where were not golfing for another 3 ½ to 4 months. We both enjoyed the rolling terrain, the T boxes and shot selection needed. The greens were not too fast and held. The views of and from the course of LA were something else. Would not hesitate to play here again.
