Cimarron's Boulder course is desert in location, but almost links in feel. It's hard to imagine even the most beer-cart-fueled hacker thinking they're in Scotland. Considering the bright sun, the striking San Jacinto Mountains and all. But …
"We've had many golfers tell us it reminds them of the British Open," head pro Jason Janke said. "For what we have in the desert, this is probably the closest course to that."
At 6,782 yards from the back tees, Cimarron challenges with length and accuracy. It's wise to keep your ball in the fairway here or you'll get some up-close desert views. Still with three par 4s over 450 yards and two par 5s over 560 yards, bombing away with your driver is anything but completely ignored.

Not a bad layout but bunkers are concrete and greens fair at best.

Poor staff, no water awailble
Course interesting, but staff absolute worth, beginning in pro shop, starter was not available and all water station were empty: unacceptable,

no Water at any Station!
we were absolutely frustrated, because there was n water on any Waterstation; unacceptable! Starter was not on his position when we wanted start; result: there were Groups of 5 players with result, that pace of play was weary long ( 5h 10‘)

Terrible pace
Would have scored the course higher if it wasn't for the slow play. Several groups were celebrating bachelor/wedding parties and were trying to pair up foursomes and this led to a 5 hour round for 18 holes. No coures marshall/supervision was made on the course and was very dissappointing.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. This course was wide open, played as a single in 2&1/2 hours, only going through 1 group ahead. Course conditions as expected a bit dry, greens mostly fast and hard. If you play here, read the scorecard for the local rule that states any ball hit into the wash, take a free drop on nearest grass 2 club lengths no penalty. Always use rules to your advantage. No wind on this day. Not bad. I’ve played all over the valley and would play here again.

This place needs an update....layout is just back and forth...trash around everywhere....total dumping ground.....I was told this is what you get for $50 in Palm Springs! needs total makeover and $$$ investment....took 2.5 hrs to play 9 holes...go somewhere else. will not be back

Beware of pace of play and the wind.
I have tried this course 5 times now and have never had a good experience. You're either playing a 6 hr round because they allow too many players on the course, or you're playing total wind ball.

Nice Layout
Enjoyed the course. A bit dry, but that's to be expected at this time of year. Greens were great and rolled perfect.

Where’s the Shade?
The Boulder course is challenging and well maintained. We were able to complete our afternoon round (2 of us) in 4 hours. We never experienced a slow down and we were never rushed. There is a nice clubhouse that serves a nice lunch. There is absolutely no shade on the course. Better apply a thick layer of sunscreen.

Great course for your money.
Staff was great, even got to do a few holes with the head pro, Styles, very nice guy. Course was in pretty good condition and the greens were good as well, maybe a little dry though, but still good.
My wife road around with me for free, as it wasn’t that busy and she wasn’t taking a seat from a golfer, nice deal.
The waiter in the lounge was very nice as well, had a couple sandwiches and glasses of wine, all very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this course.
