Beautiful course!

First time playing out here and the course conditions were amazing. Green fairways and roughs. Very open layout. Greens weren’t too crazy in regards to breaks. Driving range is perfect, you hit off of grass. They had 2 cart girls checking up on players quite often, since there isn’t a pit stop at the club house after the 9th hole. Portable toilets were spread out around the course and they were kept really clean. Pace was good, just a lot of Seniors on the course.

Great Views. Great condition

My first visit to Cimarron golf course did not disappoint. This is one of the best courses in the area for the money. After noon is under $100 which is a total score in this area as most of the golf courses are very expensive this time of year. The course has two courses. A Par 71, 18 hole course and then a small executive course. I played the 18 hole par 71. The course was in near perfect condition. The greens were fast and true. I loved the local rule about the wash that runs through the middle of the course. You get a free drop and two club lengths if you hit the wash. That helps out a lot on some of those hooks and slices. The cart girl made two passes during my round and was very friendly. Beer prices were a little high. The staff inside the restaurant was very nice. Introducing me to the happy hour draft beer was a nice touch but still a little pricey for a draft. Very impressed with this course for the cost in this area I will definitely be back

Well-designed Course Similar to Many Others in the Area

Staff is friendly and helpful. Full-sized driving range, but range balls are not included in the fee. This course is a full 18-hole course with several options for distance based on tee selection. For the most part, the holes are generally straight and relatively narrow. Some have an elevation change, but nothing significant. There is a waste area that runs through the course and you will be advised to keep your carts out of it - play it as a penalty area. The greens were quite quick and rolled true on putts, although it seems that subtle breaks and grain effects were difficult to detect (at least for me!). While it seemed a bit slow pace-wise, we did finish in a reasonable time without any lengthy wait at any hole. Overall, it is a nice course to play - nothing too pretentious and reasonable rates.

Overbooked , Overrated

The course was so overbooked we had to wait for a cart until almost the tee time. Range balls not included. Way overpriced at $12 for 30 balls, no water provided on carts. Started late and finished in the dark. Slow play was a big issue as many beginner tourists and timeshare guests trying to play. No marshall after 2 pm to move pace along. Course conditions can best be described as shaggy. Fairways long with little roll. Greens ok except many unrepaired ball marks. I will not return. For $100 more is expected.

Play it !

Cimarron is a fun course, I’d recommend it to most of my golfing friends. There is a problem in the afternoons of slow play, the group ahead of us had three open greens in front of them. They may have been of Asian descent.

Shaggy carpet

The course in reasonable playing conditions for mid October, except for the greens. Horrible, horrible patchy and very long greens ! It is like trying to navigate shaggy carpet with your putter.

Look elsewhere in the Coachella Valley to golf.

Marshal Manners

Brian seems to have taken his job beyond the definition of a marshal. Our foursome started 20 minutes behind schedule and a threesome and a twosome were placed in front of us out of schedule. Brian show up around the 8th hole and informs us we are behind our spot and that we should pick up the pace. When we tried to explain our plight he was not sympathetic. He even accused us of being RUDE to the other golfers on the course. We realize that it is a difficult task to manage the pace of play, but I think Brian went way beyond how a marshal should conduct himself. He should be given some lessons on manners and customer service or given a job with minimal customer contact.

Good Course Terrible Surroundings

Course reopened for the season and was in great condition. Greens were very slow, but will firm up as they get more use. The only downside were the spectators. Hole two was the first indication when my wife saw a homeless cussing at himself while I hope he was peeing but could have been playing with his putter. Then on hole 4 things went off the rails. A homeless crackhead was on the green hitting balls at the surrounding holes and golfers. Finally he ran off into the bushes so I hit my iron shot into the green, a shot to within 6 feet of the hole, but before I could get to the green to putt for birdie our friend returned and grabbed the ball and ran off. I marked it where I thought it landed and went to put but as I went to hit he returned again. Decided to move to the next hole, not engage and especially get my wife away from a bad situation. Hole 5 was uneventful but on six it started to ramp up, as we caught up to the twosome in front of us, the drunken crazy returned as stole the ball the group had just hit. They called the pro shop which was very apologetic and sent the Marshall out. The rest of the round was good until hole 14 when our buddy emerged from the bushes again, this time on a bike and stole another ball from the group ahead of us. It was getting dark and clearly not safe so we left. I dint blame the course, this is the city’s fault, they allow trash like that to flop on the streets. I will never return.

Late summer fire

The Boulder Course has always been a favorite; especially when it’s all burned out and fast. Right now the fairways may be brown but it’s gonna add 20 yards to your drives while still being an awesome playing surface. Love late season Cimmy!!!
