Glades at Colony West Country Club

I was not informed ahead of time that I would be playing the course ‘across the street.’ Most of the greens had large patches of sand or dirt. Several holes marked at 4 par but should be par three. There far too many par three holes. Perhaps the primary course is tournament ready but the Glades are an embarrassment. Thankfully the greens fee were very reasonable.

We were paired with a young man and enjoyed his company. We often play here when we find it on golfnow seldom are we paired usually don’t like for different reasons but this day it was fine. Will be back.

Staff is always pleasant.

Course played nice and straight forward, greens are a little patchy but not terrible. The main issue was not enough carts for two courses. Had 3 groups ahead of me waiting on carts and got us off to a late start.

The course has been neglected and the fairways and greens are in poor condition. The fees are low but should be raised to put more resources into the maintenance. Until the conditions are improved I would not recommended it to anyone.

Clearly the course has been neglected even though there was a reasonable number of players. The fairway grass was heavily covered with weeds and many bald spots. The greens had many bare areas, bumpy, and mixed grasses. The management needs to get serious about maintenance, even if it means raising the price. I won’t play it again or recommend the Glades Course until it is improved.

It was a quick round , beautiful day.

No slow downs , not crazy busy .
