Summer course review
The pro-shop personnel were very friendly and helpful.
The course suffered minimal damage from the last storm that passed through the area. For this time of year the fairways were in good shape. The rough was 2-3:inches high and a mix of thick/thin with an assortment of grasses. Bunkers were in decent shape. Tee's were cut and in good shape. I played my round in 2 hours and never saw another golfer. I enjoyed my round.
Summer golf
After looking at the pictures I was expecting one awesome green course. What we had was bad greens and fairways. I know the heat played a part in the overall conditions, however, I will not return during this time of year.
Rough shape
Every area of the course was in rough shape other than the bunkers, which I was in a lot today. I can’t see coming back here this summer unless they cut the rate in half. The staff is awesome but that’s about it.
Greens in bad shape
Course is nice, but greens are in rough shape. Doesn’t look like they will have the under control anytime soon.
Palm Springs Classic
Built in 1959 it has the vibe for sure. Course is a little rough around the edges. Their Bermuda transition hasn’t really happened and they are yet to punch and sand. Greens are tricky which is fun. If you like wandering through homes and condos which reflect the ‘60’s architecture it is pretty cool to see. 6500 yards from the whites is a nice length and with summer conditions you will get a lot of roll! I might go back in the season when it is in better shape.
Great hot deal course
Definitely worth the deal…greens were nice. Fairways forgiving…pretty short overall but really enjoyable…great place to sharpen game!
Course is a mess right now...
After playing the Resort course we thought that we could try the Legend course as the Resort course was fun. No comparison...the Legend course is a old-style muni design that was basically beat the ball back and forth along the fairway. The recent rain and damage to Tahquitz Creek is evident here, especially on Nos. 1, 9, and 18 as the creek has washed away the bridges and fairways on these holes. Sorry...shouldn't have charged $50/round...was maybe worth half that...
Easier Course, but nothing fancy
The highlight for me was getting to see some of the original palm springs architecture in the homes around the course ….. not the pristine highly groomed courses that you find in Palm Desert much more of a neighborhood public course feel which is fine but don’t expect it to be some thing it’s not.
Chaos
We arrived an hour before our 1:10 Tee time and they were out of carts. We were told to check back with player services around 10-15 minutes prior to our start time and they would load us up on a cart. Nobody told us that they were running an hour behind. We just wanted an estimated start time but not a single employee on property seemed to know. The golf shop, player services, starters, and course hosts showed no interest in helping anyone. Guests were arguing over available carts because nobody knew who was teeing off next. Play anywhere in Palm Springs but there. It was a miserable experience that was made even worse by the entire staff.
Chaos
We arrived an hour prior to our start time and they had no carts available. We were told to check back about 10-15 before our tee time and a cart would be issued to us. They never told us that they were running an hour behind. The player service staff, starters, pro shop and course host refused to give an estimate as to when we would actually start. Customers were fighting over available carts and the staff did nothing. The course was average and definitely not worth any of your money. Don’t play there!.
Tough to play at 101 degrees
Beautiful course. Even had its own river flow thru the middle of the course. First time in many years in May.
Negatives - homeless people living next to the course. No water provided on the course. Tough to play when you run out of water half way through
