Fair Course
Course was in good shape, it’s not overly difficult, some small raised greens on the front 9. It’s nothing special, but it’s a good, honest course that a Canadian appreciates in February!
Breezy Day in Palm Springs
I always enjoy my trips to Palm Springs and have added the Legends course to my favourite tracks. The wind warnings started Tuesday night and continued into Wednesday morning. I booked the first time of the day as I like to get done before the rest of those I travel with get too far into their day. I was the only one on the range at 5:45 and had to move some wind debris off the practice green to hit some putts before teeing it up. I had a quick conversation with the starter and he let me go as a single at 6:12! I knew I was in for a treat when the wind blew my ball backwards off the 1st green. Played the front in 55 minutes and unfortunately caught some back nine play on the 13th hole. Was able to get through that group on the 14th tee, then encountered another group on the 16th. Played through them on the 17th tee and finished my round in 2:15!! The wind died down on the 13th hole and the day turned quite pleasant. I was pleased with the condition of the course and encountered a couple of maintenance workers, who were busy clearing wind debris off of greens and tees. I was pleased with the way I hit the ball in the wind and was really pleased with my score at the end of the day. I would much rather play the Legends course over the Resort course at Tahquitz Creek. I will play the Legends on every future trip. Good value for my dollar!
Good Course for Average Players
The Tahquitz courses are good for average players on a budget... nothing amazing but a nice track with nice facilities for a reasonable price.
Nice layout but needs some work doing
Very forgiving course and some nice holes. Conditions could be improved in the rough. No grass whatsoever on a lot of the fairways. We played twice. First time the clubhouse was closed and it was only 4pm. 2nd time it was open but no food being served. Found the guys sorting out carts rude and staff overall was the same.
Tahquitz Golf
A nice layout
Excellent condition
Need more golf carts, had to wait 30 minutes pass our tee-time to get a cart.
Nearby Course.
We typically golf at this particular course due to proximity to our resort. There are better courses in the area but, this is a former municipal course with some length to it (6,504 yards from the white tees).
deeply disappointing
We were unable to complete our round as it got extremely windy. The balls were getting blown around as we attempted to putt. We returned to the pro shop and about their refund policy. They told us since we booked with golf now we would have to contact them. When golf now contacted them they were told no refund was possible. I responded that we were not looking for a refund but rather an opportunity to come back and finish the round. I was then referred to to the assistant manager who refused to take my calls. I left numerous phone messages but to no avail. Truly disappointing. We will not be back.
Ladies tee boxes are an afterthought. Many ball washers are dry. Pro shop looks like a bomb went off inside.
Good public course, slightly overpriced
Enjoyed the course and the company. Greens were tough but well kept. At $100, I thought it was a small gouge, especially when I found out that the local I was with were paying. (3X).
Great condition!
Played Legends course. It was the best shape I’ve ever seen it and it was gorgeous. Tough holes lipped out a lot, wide open fairways, pace was great until the last two holes. Lovely day.
Not investing in this course
This is a municipal course that looks like PS would like to close as it sure isn’t investing in it. Also many signs around the course with Save Golf Palm Springs. We waited close to 45 minutes for a golf cart as the course has a limited number. Attendants were it very friendly as we waited. Gold course is in poor shape with people walking dogs everywhere on the course. Only one beverage cart so bring your own. Go somewhere else if you can.
not great - need them to do better
we waited over 20 minutes past our tee time for a cart, and when we did get one, it had not been charged…so we hand-pushed the cart up hills for the last several holes.
the wash area was expected to be a bit messy, but the rest of the course wasn’t great either, with weed patches around, beat-up cart paths, and scalped greens.
Great course
The greens and fairways were in great condition
Would definitely play again.
Late start
Because of a freeze delay our 1:30 tee time was pushed further. I didn’t expect to be able to come close to finishing but we just did. The woman starter was so friendly and upbeat she made the wait tolerable.
Greens were fast and the course presents challenges.
Average
Price should be lower, inline with course conditions.
