Golfer Reviews
Poor Value
The course was in very poor shape and the staff were not friendly or helpful. This course definitely needs to be closed for over seeding and further maintenance improvements.
Player friendly but course and starter needs work
To start, course is very player friendly with wide flat fairways. Fairways and greens need work but they will soon be overseeing so I expect conditions to improve. Had a confirmed 8:20 tee time in hand but the started say his sheet showed 8:30 so that’s what is is, no matter what I have. 10 minutes was no big deal but he was snotty with no apology or explanation. Greens were pitted with ball marks which is not courses fault just the ignorant players who don’t care about a course that is not their home course. Most bunkers had only 1 rake which was not bad in small bunkers but the larger ones had footprints from the same ignorant players who could walk around to the rake. I would play it again after overseeing especially since it was a good course for my wife.
Enjoyable Round
With few courses open during overseeding season, I played the legends course for the first time with modest expectations. I had steered away previously given mediocre reviews. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and had an enjoyable round. The layout is straightforward with some very wide fairways—a plus in my book. Conditioning was fine for the season.
Great Straight Forward Layout
Played here for the first time on the 7th. Enjoyed the round and layout. Everything is as you see, all in front of you.
Tees and Fariways in good shape. Greens were good shape and ran quick. The design of the greens were all very similar, low in front and high in back. Little more variety in design would have helped.
Enjoyed the round with others in group. Play and you wont be disappointed.
Course condition
Course is moderate but not for beginner.
Not to have tee time in the afternoon around 2p.m again.
Sand storm with gusty wind come around 4pm.
Nice Track!
Played here for the first time today. We were the second group off the tee and finished in just over 3 hrs. Great pace of play and we did not rush at all. Course was in good condition, most fairways in good to very good shape. Greens were consistent and in good shape. Tee boxes in fair to good condition and need a some attention to be flattened as some were not level. Overall the design on the Legacy layout was straight forward. Green design on all greens was high back - low front, and challenging if above the hole. Seems the designer utilized a single template on the greens! Overall a fun day, enjoyed the layout and golf partners(of whom I had not met previously). Worth the time to play.
Old and tired
Tahquitz legends course is old and was a traditional park land layout. Compared to the resort course it is poorer shape. Compared to most area courses it lags behind.. it is long but not particularly interesting layout. I would play it again but only as a back up.
