Staff needs work
Staff could be more helpful. Starter could be more friendly.
desert afternoon
A great round at a beautiful course! well worth the greens fees!
Go for the cheap food
The course is pretty monotonous most of th roar 4s feel the same with little variation. The course photos are amazing but nothing like the reality. It’s a $50 course at best.
Worth playing
Wife and I were staying in the area and was planning to play Tahquitz, but was told it wasn't too nice, then also read some of the reviews that weren't great. However, we decided Thursday night to just go for it. There were a lot of tee times available (hoping for a quicker round), and the price wasn't too bad.
A lot of reviewers want to slight their experience due to the workers. This isn't some high end resort, so set expectations there. It works, they get you checked in and you get to the first tee. Let your experience on the course do. the talking.
Overall, I felt like the course was in very good shape, greens were rolling pretty nicely as well. The wind was up early, so club selection was definitely a challenge. I didn't really see any bad areas on any greens, they were quick if you put yourself on the wrong side of the hole...but still fair. Except 17 pin... wow... whoever cut that hole was an unhappy camper. Impossible location to get near.
Wife felt some holes were a little tricky on the layout but she liked the course a lot.
We play in the desert a couple of times a year and we try to play new courses each time, so happy that we went ahead and took a chance here. We had a good time and played in about 3.5hrs
very interesting course
perfect weather, lovely course. several holes quite difficult, requiring precisely placed tee shots.
Played the Resort course and I would recommend everyone to give it a try at all levels. It has some interesting holes, dogleg left and right and water holes on the Par threes. Played in under 4 hours on a Saturday.
Women be ware! Misogynist course!
I was extremely excited to go play a round of golf with my friend (we are female). Unfortunately 8 minutes before my tee off time the gentleman who was arranging the carts begins yelling my name. I go over and the 2 men that were scheduled to play with us became extremely annoyed when they saw it would be women they would have to play with. One gentlemen was extremely rude in mocking my friend and I. The man who works at Tahquitz was not only allowing this but joining in on the rude remarks in front of my face! I have never felt so typecast in my life. Extremely unfriendly worker that does not support or help women! If anyone is wondering we were not late but the men had already judged us based on our appearance.
Great Value
You will
Love the course... The staff was friendly and the snacks / beer was super reasonably !
Outstanding Course
Even a frost delay, course Shotgun start tee times to get everyone on the course that was delayed starting. Great staff, friendly. Resteraunrint open w/ outside sitting. No waiting on any tee box. Greens rolling smooth and true. Course in excellent condition. I will definitely play again.
Don’t Waste Your Time
While it may be cheap course conditions are brutal. The fairway is crab grass and is practically the same as the rough. The staff was very short and uptight when we arrived. Additionally, we seemed to find consistent pebbles/small rocks in the bunkers.
Lastly, groups ahead of us were 5 and even some 6 somes... Overall, tough experience and would not recommend
Late Nov great weather
Very little wind, Resort course was challenging but playable. Greens were quick but accepted mid iron shots.
Sadly no
The course is worn, the staff is lousy, the starter is a surly goon who does not interact well with people (we are paying to play there he is not doing us a favor. The course is not well marked, a lot of water with no description. Will never play this course again.
Ok, sure I'll play again
Wasn't sure what to expect, I frequently play courses in the Coachella valley and find them to be amazing tracks. This course was a little less then expected but by no means bad or disappointing. Condition was good, greens were slow but well kept. The holes aren't terriblely challenging but maintained my interest. A couple of really beautiful par 3's. Staff was friendly and polite. Overall it was worth playing and would play again.
