Wonderful!

A great golf course in excellent condition. Only downside, the greens were a little slow. The layout is magnificient. The second nine is a little more difficult than the first one. Great value for the price.

Disappointing Amenities

Have played Gary Player Course many times, but this day, discovered the Carts in need of replacement, tears in seats, rattle when driving. No Staff at the small take out food available. No Cups at the water on course dispensers. Water flooding on at least 4 of the cart paths to avoid.

Very disappointing day.

Gary Player North

Really enjoyed the course and practice areas. Clubhouse, resteraunt left a lot to be desired. Also post round attendants were very aggressive in wiping down our clubs and then hand out for their tip!!!

Course itself was very good, just plan to go somewhere else afterwards for drinks and food.

Use your Golf $$$ elsewhere

Had payed the Pete Dye course earlier in the year, so was expecting this course to have similar standards.
Reseeding was over 3 weeks prior, yet the greens were ridiculously shaggy n slow. Friendly staff indicated course conditions would persist for another 3-4 weeks.
Practice facility was adequate but didn’t stand out above any other facility in the valley.
Club house had a nice locker room, but restaurant was more of a cafe and very underwhelming.

Very poor value. Not a >$100 course. Look else where in the valley for better value and a nicer experience.

Mission Hills Players Course

Pace of play with a late morning tee time was very good. Greens were still slow with some shaggy areas. Good, fair layout and a good warm up course. Did not use any of clubhouse amenities which looked very basic.

I'd play here again but ... they need to fix some things

I've played here a few times and enjoy the course. It's very walkable (and I wish I had). My only gripe with the layout is that I used the same wedge on all of the par 3s (playing off the Silvers - all between 110-128). The course was playing slow post-overseeding but that was expected. That probably added 200+ yards to the distance. The pace of play was brutally slow. 5+ hours on a 9:30am tee time and not a marshal in sight (even though the GPS sent around a message saying the course was marshalling). There were two foursomes on every tee from 3-18. The starter told us the flags were in pin position A; the GPS said it was position B; the course was set up using position C. It took us a few holes to trust where the flags were. There was no on-course food or beverage service (on a Saturday). With all the waiting, they'd have rung up a lot of sales. Lastly, even with the carts parked on the cart paths around the green, on a couple of occasions, an unrelenting alarm would go off from the GPS saying the carts were too close to the greens. We unplugged ours until we got to the next tee but had to wait for it to reset. Better management and service would fix almost all of these issues.

Mission Hill

The price was too expensive for the conditions of the greens. Price should have been closer to $100 instead of the $162 I paid. I think the greens should be in better condition in 2 to 4 weeks or so.

Worth the trip…

I play out in the Palm Desert a couple of times a year: in summary I’m glad I made the trip. I got a Hot Deal for $100/person and we enjoyed our round.
Pace of play was slow… by the 5th hole we weee waiting on the tee box on every hole: this may have been in part because we were playing cart path only.
Conditions were to be expected just after reopening from over seeding but there were a few scruffy paths, and transitions dotted around the course. Didn’t negate having fun.
A lot of desert golf can start to feel samey… there are a few interesting holes here… I quite enjoyed the par 3’s and there is plenty of water around the course to be mindful of.
Shame the clubhouse/ pro shop facilities seem to be a bit of an after thought. Again it didn’t impact our golf fun but the facilities are a little sparse.
