Mission Hills - Gary Player Course

Have played this course many times over the years. Seems to have been forgotten about by golfers this season. Greens rolled well and great pace of play

What an experience. Got to the course for a 7:30 tee time. As we were dropping off our cubs, they apologized and said all of the greens had been killed of due to a groundskeeping error. Not time to go elsewhere with all of us there, and no notification of the problem from either The Westin of GolfNow. We basically threw our money away. Its the same as paying to to play basketball at the Forum, and being told when you arrive, hey were sorry, but you can only dribble around the court. The baskets are broken and not available.

It is disappointing that both Westin and GolfNow are so greedy that they don't notify you of the problem, but take your money and tell you sorry.

Not only will I will never suggest anyone ever play at the Westin Rancho Mirage, I will actively tell people to stay away from there, and stay away from using GolfNow.

Very disappointed, and feel scammed.

I can't believe how much better this course is, conditions wise than the Pete dye course. The help even new about the greens at Pete dye. They said I should get my money back.

Can't believe they share a name.

Our day started on the wrong foot with the rude restaurant worker, who was snippy with my wife when she ordered breakfast burrito (our tee time was 10:20, we were there abt 40 minutes beforehand, so not before opening time, and with a whole lot of day ahead of us). The range was good, as expected. The starter was very hospitable, although he got caught in a conversation in the parking lot when we were looking to tee off, so we had to cool our heels a little at the entrance to course. Course was in really rough shape, especially the rough. Cart attendant said they hadn't been watering frequently enough in the past and that we should have enjoyed to sparse grass as weeks earlier the rough was just dirt/sand. There was no on-course beverage cart. Needless to say, we stay for the "19th hole". We've been trying out different courses in the Valley over the last 6 years, this is on our "DO NOT RETURN" list for now.

Very friendly staff when arriving. Got off at the booked time and played in about 31/2 hours. Greens rolled true and fast. Fairways were plush. Lots of mounding and patchy winter grass if you get off the fairway. Drove out from Riverside and was worth the drive. Thanks for a pleasant day.

First time here.

I liked it a lot. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. There is no rough. So it is not a very hard course. If you play the golds many of the par fours are quite challenging as they are long and the wind can make it longer.

Overall, for $140.00 with cart and range balls (all you want) it’s. A good value for the area.

Nobody was on the course so we played in a little over three hours.

Not a great course, but a decent value. Layout is fine but a bit boring. Conditions are satisfactory except the bunkers, which are terrible -- mostly mud and clay, very little sand. Staff is friendly. Facilities are almost non-existent. Looks like the facilities were designed to be temporary, and now they have tried to make the best of it.

The greens were garbage and they didn’t have the decency to say so before booking

The course is in great condition- pace of play excellent.

Old school layout -- lots of water hazards on the back 9 -- well maintained - friendly staff and a lad back vibe

We’ve played here once a year for many years. The staff are always very friendly, helpful and professional. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are always in great shape, but the rough is not irrigated much so it’s very dry and dusty. The landscaping beyond the rough is not very well maintained. The clubhouse is under renovation but almost nonexistent now. Overall, it’s a good value and we enjoy playing there.

Would recommend this Gem to anyone

We have been coming to Palm Springs for 46 years at Spring Break. We had not played here recently, but came back this year. The course was in good shape and greens were very good. The staff were very helpful providing hydration options despite the high temperatures.

Decided to play a last minute twilight round. Course was beautiful and wide open. Great shape as well. Clubhouse definitely needs some work but course recently got new owners. Only downfall was paying 50 bucks for my wife to ride in the cart with me. Wasn’t playing, just wanted to cruise around. Bit of a rip off
