Sabal/Grand at Grand Palms Golf & Country Club
About
Located in Pembroke Pines, picturesque Grand Palms Golf & Country Club offers three nines: Royal, Sabal and Grand. The nine-hole courses are playable in three combos, with the Sabal/Grand coming in at a 6,682 yards. Of the three, Sabal/Grand is the most helter skelter, combining the shortest and longest nines. The Grand is a tight golf course that offers a challenge for most, what with its raised greens, narrow fairways and challenging water holes. Sabal, by contrast, is a resort-style play, with a gentler game featuring generous fairways and greens.

They have let it go down
It’s a golf complex with nice layout and great location, that could be very good. No doubt it’s a residential course as it moves through the neighborhood at every hole.
Unfortunately it has been let go down big time and the conditions are a big let down
Needs some TLC
If you just wanted to play and aren't expecting a gem. This is for you.
Decent course
This is decent golf course you can come later afternoon on weekend without reservation in advance.
The course is challenging and there are a lot of water to be aware.
Good value for the money.
Waste of money
This course should not be on golf now. I pick this course for the location. My son and grandsons were traveling from Jupiter, myself from Naples both traveling about 11/2hours.
Upon arriving at the course, no one at bag drop, sign at entrance cart paths only, upon entering the pro shop big sign”No rain checks, don’t even ask!”. Forecast was breezy from 10-3 rain afterwards. After already paying 100% on golf now I thought it was worth a try after the trip. Light rain after 7 holes, stopped for 8 & 9, began raining while on 10, needed to stop after 11. Heavy rain and wind. After returning to golf barn, no one to clean clubs, pro shop locked with sign “closed due to rain”. Couldn’t use rest room or even dry our faces.
Golf conditions poor, bare spots on course and greens. Not oboe to put. SHOULD NOT BE On GOLF NOW!!!!
Beautiful Technical Course
Love it!
Great course! Well condition. Challenging but fun to play!
A wonderful course with friendly and helpful staff.
Dont believe everything you read
First time visiting this club and I was a little nervous from reading recent reviews. Well...not all that bad. Yes some tee boxes were a little sandy and fairways under defined, but overall very playable! Green conditions not nearly as bad as reviews would make you think...true speeds throughout my round. Some scars from pesky Florida insects, but getting better. Single rounded the Grand and Royal 9s in under 3 hours. Clubhouse staff made, sure no one jumped in so i aporeciated their efforts.
Nice course
The course is laid out nicely, but they could really use more signage. Paths go to more than one tee box, and you aren't sure where you are going. Also, 18 holes are actually 2 different courses of 9 holes which wasn't explained at the outset. The fairways were sometimes in rough conditions, but on the whole it was a lovely day in the sun. Ice machine is great outside!
This course need more love
Lot of tee off are in bad condition and the amenities are very pour!!
Downhill
I started my golf career on this course 30 years ago. Boy has it gone downhill since then and the cost has gone up! Bumpy slow greens, slow pace of play, and so many bare spots and raggy tee boxes. Very disappointing for $69.00. Used to love playing here but never gain unless I start seeing reviews on improved conditions. Broward doesn't have many good courses left unless you want to spend over $100 a round this time of year. Gotta go to palm beach where they can atleast grow grass and cut their greens.
East Coast versus West Coast
I was excited to leave Pennsylvania and play golf in the pompano beach area. The course in question was an average golf course when compared to the other three courses that we played similar to the other three courses, I was disappointed in the greens in that there were many bare areas. making putting more difficult than necessary. My expectations were that the course conditions would be better, and I was honestly disappointed in that
After leaving the Florida eastern coast, we traveled to Marco Island, and we’re fortunate enough to play a course in Naples that was incredibly maintained and who’s. Greens were immaculate. While the cost was double what we paid in the east, I would gladly pay that again to play a course in such excellent condition.
The courses that we played were Palm-Aire Cypress and Palm-Aire Palms and Hollywood Golf Club- Despite the conditions, we were treated well and we had fun playing this great game. If I were to visit Pompano Beach again, I think I would look to play courses in the $80-$120 per round range and hope that their conditions would be better.
In summary, remember that there is never a bad day on any golf course because it sure beats work.
