Sabal/Grand at Grand Palms Golf & Country Club

About
Located in Pembroke Pines, picturesque Grand Palms Golf & Country Club offers three nines: Royal, Sabal and Grand. The nine-hole courses are playable in three combos, with the Sabal/Grand coming in at a 6,682 yards. Of the three, Sabal/Grand is the most helter skelter, combining the shortest and longest nines. The Grand is a tight golf course that offers a challenge for most, what with its raised greens, narrow fairways and challenging water holes. Sabal, by contrast, is a resort-style play, with a gentler game featuring generous fairways and greens.

Always nice at Grand Palms 3*9 Resort
For the first time we also stayed at the resort and played already at 8am. It was already busy, but not too crowed. The course is always interested, no perfect conditions, but nice and somewhat challenging. The greens were reasonably fast and in very good conditions. The water hazards at at times tight fairways between houses and penalty areas make it very beautiful and interesting.
Rain
We played the front 9 but it starting pouring and since they offer no rain checks it kind of sucked
Better than some Reviews
After reading the very mixed reviews, I decided to play the course on Monday. After a good experience I played it again on Wednesday. It is three nines, and between both rounds I played them all. Overall, the tee boxes are level with ample grass (considering that winter just ended). The fairways have various types of grasses with some mown weeds. The greens were slower, yet in excellent condition and held approach shots well. After experiencing the golf course twice, I think that some reviews are a little overly critical. (If you expect a $200 golf course experience, you have to spend $200). For an affordable public golf course, it exceeded my managed expectations. For first time golfers, beware that there are a few tricky holes to navigate.
Wet conditions
Been playing here every week for 2 months and the course is in good shape. Had a lot of rain 2 days before we played and we were not told cart path only or 90% rule. They have no rangers/marshalls so some of the inconsiderate golfers were driving everywhere even through wet areas and they were ruining the course that Grand Palms has worked so hard to improve.
nice track
there are three nine hole tracks to choose from. A grand entrance as you pull in,.but no bag boys as you pull up, but were friendly once you found them in the cart area. I golfed the Sebal and Grand courses. The grand was the better track. Lots of water and palm trees with some challenging holes. overall greens in good shape. If you hit the fairway , conditions are good there too, but it gets a little "rough" in the rough lol! good value, worth the money. will be back.
Needs work!
I gave this course a 3 but it could easily be a 4 or 5 with some work. Greens are good. The fairways are bumpy, rough and full of weeds. T boxes need seed. The course is not very marked a few holes were missing directional signs. Some holes are several hundred yards apart, wouldn’t want to walk this course. My cart was good, very fast. The bar and grill was closed due to lack of staff but they offered snacks, beer and other beverages at the club house. Overall a good experience but it could be so much more.
nicely maintained
Some overgrowth, but fairways, tee box and greens in very good shape
Grand Palms should do better
Bad - Needs attention on watering. Fairways are dry.. some days it's over watered near the greens. Need to yellow rope of more areas. Drivers are driving to close to the greens carving out sections in the ground (#4 Sabal). Ball washers are there but no water in them. All tee box markers were not put in place..
The greens have grown out nicely.. All 3, nine holes are a fun layout.. Staff is great. Good practice area..
Much improved
Last time I played, the course was nice, but the greens were cratered and unplayable. This has since been resolved, and it was a very pleasant round.
Good golf
The court is in the Best condition then october.
Good job with the greens BUT, poor in the bunker that need a Manicure…..
