Saddlebrook Resort - Oak/Cypress

Even though the greens have just been updated, it is a beautiful and peaceful place to play.

The staff could not have nicer and most accommodating.

Even if you live in Florida, it feels like a vacation playing here.

I read the recent reviews and was hesitant to book. I am so glad I did! It was chilly and windy but sunny. The Palmer course is a target course so if you just grip and rip maybe it’s not for you. Conditions were excellent and each hole has its own identity. Greens were a tad slow but ball stayed on the surface and greens were undulating. Fairways could have been cut shorter but ball sits up. I have played many premium courses and I rank this as number one in value and interest. I am 66 years old and rank this number one favorite place to play and will be back!!

Too cold to enjoy. Cost was in very good shape greens were awesome, but the pace of play was slow as it was very busy. Add that to the blustery conditions, decided to play only 12 holes will be back on the warmer weather

Another enjoyable round on The Palmer course. The course overall is in perfect condition. In my opinion the friendliest staff in the Tampa area. 5-STARS

For a resort, it is hard to believe how bad a situation it was. Parking vis valet is required. The staff was totally unorganized. After waiting 10 minutes for ride to clubhouse, I decided to walk. The greens were really bad. There was no starter when we arrived so we started to t-off. Then a RUDE staff came up to us and wanted to see our ticket. Had no clue what was going on. After round, had to take own clubs back to valet and then waited for 20 minutes to get car. Oh, btw, have to pay for this poor valet service. NOT GOOD.

Great track. Greens rolled beautifully. Staff changed my spikes for no charge. Great service.

Nice course except most greens were under repair and nearly unplayable. It would have been good to have been advised.

There were 4 greens that were under repair but playable.

We thought we were playing Palmer but got a call that we were moved to Saddle Brook which I said OK but they didn’t tell me that five of the greens were in bad shape. If all the greens were in good condition I would of given the course the top rating!

The course is great except for five greens. I can't remember the holes but there are five greens that are covered in sand due to bad soil. They are in the process of fixing them but it will be a while. So with that said, I am writing this review on January 15th, 2020, so I would give it around 4 - 10 months give or take for the greens to be back to 100%.

The course was beautiful!! Only two issues I had was the parking and the greens. I had to park in a field and wait for a shuttle to get me to the resort, then a cart shuttle to the pro shop. The greens on the Saddlebrook course were bad! Almost like putting in a sand trap on several. Won’t keep me away tho!

I wish I could review the Saddlebrook 18 but I cant. I have played the Palmer before and it is very underwhelming, not to mention you finish on a short par 3 which is my biggest golf pet peeve. It is in decent shape and the greens are small and challenging. But the course is short and open for the most part.

I booked the Saddlebrook 18 to play a challenging, tight, shorter course to test my luck after hearing great things about the shorter tournament course. When i got there they told me they closed the saddlebrook course for maintenance cause numbers were low today. If i knew i would be playing palmer I wouldnt have bothered coming. Its a long drive and i dont consider the Palmer to be challenging or in exceptional condition. No communication and this information should have been conveyed to me. I would not have come up to WC if I knew they were just going to shove me on the Palmer to appease their schedule.

They said it was better anyway cause Palmer is in better shape. Whatever, they knew what they were doing. I was also told its better cause i would fly through as a single on a slow day, but ended up hitting twosome after twosome after threesome after threesome.

They also wouldnt let me walk which is garbage, my 90 year old grandma could walk that track solo and finish 18 in 3 flat.

Frustrating day with saddlebrook and their staff.

Over seeded courses play a little slower than I like but this place is beautiful.

Saddlebrook Course in good condition tees and fairways clean but some of the greens are sand and patches.. Not sure why they made the decision prime time of year to repair greens.

Depending on what you pay to play would have a bearing on course worth.

This being said I like the aesthetics of the course and the staff is always on their game..

I would continue to play this course anytime.

Long shaggy failways.. No roll.. Mud on every shot.. Other than that it was a nice course..

2nd round there. Just played it on Christmas too. Love the layout. A little tight on the front and you’ll have water in play on quite a few holes. Play was slow on Christmas but played this round as a single in 2 1/2 hours. Course knowledge helped a lot the second round. A must play!

Had 3” of rain a couple days before but the course was in good shape. All bunkers were solid, no washouts and raked. Pace was slow. They squeezed in several groups that didn’t have tee times and lived in Saddlebrook. Christmas and a resort course, expected I guess but shouldn’t be allowed. First time playing and going back Thursday to play back to back to reinforce course knowledge. Recommend playing if you’re in the area.

This course was great!

Lots of water, narrow fairways, plenty of challenge. Excellent scenery.

Definitely recommend
