LPGA International - Jones Course

Played the Rees jones course twice over the last month. The layout is fine, the nature around the course is attractive. The main issue is the course always seems to be wet. It hadnt rained for days before either round and the traps and fairways were very wet. Don't know if they over water or what. Basically you get no roll (note this is supposed to be a links style course which should roll) and you have to carry every shot to the full distance of the flag. Greens roll true and otherwise a good experience.

This Jones course has generous landing areas. The greens are very good and fast. Fun to play.

We enjoyed the course. We were paired up with a local who gave us some tips on the course. There were 4 men in front of us that were playing very slow. He knew them and at his suggestion, we passed them on a par 3 and continued play. It was a great idea because we never saw anyone else until the final holes. The course was in good shape. We would play again.

Even with a lot of rain the day before and morning of our golf the course was still in good shape with some challenging shots.

Course was in excellent shape for a winter round. Well cut, green grass everywhere, traps in shape. This was our expectation considering the course and cost, but glad to say it was worth the $110 pp. Challenging but rewarding layout, various tee options. Overall we had a great time!

The LPGA courses are some of my favorites in the area… if it hasn’t been raining. Unfortunately, the drainage here is quite awful, and the staff leaves it up to the cart monitors to advise players that it’s cart path only. Additionally, the pace of play can be problematic, as the marshal rarely takes action.

While I don’t want to focus solely on the negatives—both courses truly are among my favorites in the area—I would consider a membership here. However, the drainage issues make it nearly impossible to play during the summer. I recommend avoiding the courses if it has rained in the past few days.

The pace of play was slow. We played as a twosome and were 16 minutes ahead of pace after 8 holes. Then we finally caught up with the group ahead of us and the pace bogged down. By the end of the round we were behind pace. No sign of a ranger/marshall until we were on the 17th hole.

The course was soggy even though there hadn’t been much rain recently. Several holes were cart path only, not just the par 3’s. The bunkers were in bad shape and some looked like they hadn’t been raked for days if not longer.

The Starter was grumpy and wouldn’t allow us to keep our separate golf carts even though we were only a twosome and there seemed to be plenty of carts available.

The course is in very good condition. Fairways and rough are very good condition. Greens are very good but lacked pace! I’d definitely recommend playing LPGA whenever you’re in the area.

Wide fairways. Fast greens. Beautiful lay out. No ranger seen to monitor the group in front of us slowing pace down
