Hidden Hills Golf Course
About
Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Course is in bad condition
Green speeds were inconsistent some greens had very little grass. Fairways were spotty.
Has potential
Arrived energetic and excited, then we met by the most unpleasant employee to welcome and check us in. We were left to orient and fend for ourselves (fortunately we were not in any rush)
The course was in fair condition with greens hard and the grass appeared to have been sprayed on to concrete but they ran true dispute the bumpy appearance.
The fairways too were a bit bare only to have the T boxes in similar condition.
Course layout was good , with course app and laser we were able to navigate fairly well without course knowledge.
Just avoid Hidden Hills….not worth it.
First of all, this place used to be a real gem. It is clear the management is not focused on maintenance. Bare tee boxes, green sand top dressing on most greens. Some greens look like they have a disease, random grass growing on the greens that is clearly not bermuda. If you like playing Plinko on the greens, have at it. I will not be back.
Not worth the Money
The greens are in terrible condition and the fairways are kjke hitting of concrete. Could be such a nice course but definitely not worth the money
Once premier course
Hidden Hills was once a premier course. It should be a crime for what they charge. Tee boxes are awfully. Most Greens look like the spray painted they green. Just a real shame as the course has a great layout.
Great course but horrible conditions.
This is a fantastic Arnold Palmer course which is surrounded by wonderful homes. Unfortunately, the course is beat up and it doesn't look like they are investing any money into the course. Pace of play was super slow with no ranger in sight. Lots and lots of bare spots all over on the course, greens were bare thin and putting was mostly done on dirt.
Poor greens
I like the layout of the course and it's very challenging.
Tee to green was okay since it's winter.
Something happened to the greens tho. Ive played here numerous times during the winter and the greens have actually been pretty good. Not this year tho. Too bad too....i won't be back for awhile until the greens have really improved
Return of Hidden Hills
One of the only golf courses in JAX area with hills. Challenging course, greens were not the best, but you could tell they were improving.
I had heard past bad reviews and course conditions, but again you can see they are trying to make improvements. Super friendly staff.
Good for a hill challenge
More elevation then you’ll find at any other courses in the area. Greens were in okay condition, fairways and tees were good.
Top
Course condition was disappointing. Expected more from a semiprivate. Tee boxes amongst the worst I’ve ever played. Greens near water were very poor condition. Huge difference between front and back nine. Very hard playing first time without GPS. Limited signage to warn about water and distances. Lost several strokes by just not knowing water was present. There are better courses available to choose from in the area. Cost was reasonable.
terrible condition
This is the worst conditioned course I have ever played and the pace of play was very slow. To everyone don't waste your money.
Hidden Hills
Most of the greens and tee boxes were in terrible shape. Some tee boxes were pure dirt. Have a foursome in front of us who hit two balls most every shot. No ranger monitoring play what a shame once a great course looks like on last legs. Will not play again not for the price they are asking
