Hidden Hills Golf Course
About
Tucked away in the beautiful Ft. Caroline area near Jacksonville, Hidden Hills Country Club stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain and continued into golf history with searing competition during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open.
The 6,892-yard private golf course, built in 1966 on an ancient sand dune, was redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986. Palmer's creativity helped create a championship-caliber golf course unmatched in natural beauty that makes excellent use of rare hilly terrain to create a unique Florida golf challenge. The fairways are lined with majestic pines and stately oaks, and the unpredictable greens have helped Hidden Hills gain the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses in North Florida.
Sharp doglegs, strategic placement of water hazards and putting surfaces that are mostly elevated serve up a mighty test for the low handicapper. Approaches are narrow and many of Hidden Hills Country Club's greens are well bunkered.
Hidden Hills has a rating of 74.0 from the championship tees, and the slope rating is 136.

Terrible
They’ve let this place go so far downhill and want to charge the same price as other courses. It’s sad… just sad, worst course probably in Jacksonville at the moment. Great cart girl service every time I’ve been though
Greens extremely slow
Course was in bad shape. Nice layout but in need of renovation.
Course is in descent shape
A couple of greens are being worked on and the grass on greens are really thick right now but In about two weeks this should be a great place to golf
Awful
Greens were in playing, tee boxes were torn up. Not worth money at all.
Awful!
We will not play here again. Half the greens are sand. Sprinklers going off while putting on par 3s. Birds pooping all over greens. Place used to be awesome. Stay away!
I enjoy the layout of this course but with the condition of the greens and some of the fairways and tee boxes it may be awhile before I consider playing again.
20 years of gruesome conditions
Worst golf course and worst run in Jacksonville. Played here 40 years, never this bad even when we had 5 temporary greens. If you finish after 3, can’t get food because they close grill. Owners per cent of capital improvements at minimum. Place used to be busy, now it’s shaping up to be the new Baymeadows, but owner doesn’t care apparently.lots of people paid over 4000 back in December for years free play, golf is playable maybe 4 months, but prices on food and beer go up and conditions go down. Haven’t had a putting green close to 2 months because of wrong chemicals according to maintenance. Chipping green horrible shape. Nothing good about this place big waste of 4000$ for about 50 people I know. Owner should re imburse but probably have the authority. Actually I’m playing this Thursday for another crappy golf outing with the other stupid friends I play with
This course is beautiful
I love this course because its got a great layout and very peaceful. The pace of play is great and as a not so good golfer there is definitely enough room for your ball to still be in play on most holes. My favorite hole is definitely the par 5 that goes over water. Id recommend this course to anyone, their only downside is the greens but they appear to be fixing them and I'm sure the greens are going to be great soon. Great course lots of fun
Terrible Shape (DO NOT PLAY)
The course is in terrible shape and has been for the past 8-9 months. Don't waste your time. 50% of the greens are unplayable. Fairways are all dead grass and dirt. It doesn't matter how low those "Hot Deals" on GolfNow go, it's not worth it. Hopefully someone comes in and buys this course because it has potential, but whoever is running it now, has no idea what's going on.
Good course, good value.
First time playing, very impressed. very nice layout, challenging course. Good value. Some greens could use a little care, fairways good and tee boxes are good.
Horrible
I can’t believe I paid $80 for a round with chopped up greens and one temporary green (they did have a sign in the clubhouse about that). The teeboxes were horrible too. No grass and just dirt and sand. They should be ashamed of themselves
Avoid at any cost
Horrible. Tee boxes and greens suck. Paid $80 and not worth $30. One temporary green that was posted.
Owners need to spend some money
Greens need serious attention! Have a good time golfing as long as you don’t want to putt.
Awful Awful Awful
Don’t waste your time or money at this place. It’s completely destroyed and they need to completely revamp the entire course holes 1-18. A round at this course should cost $5 maximum until things get better.
What a change
We played this course 2 years ago and it was in great shape and the rates were reasonable for the conditions. This year the course looked like a cow pasture. The greens were lumpy, bare and sandy. The fairways and rough had many bare patches. No way worth $80. We will not be back.
