In need of attention

Play this corse every year on vacation. Not sure what happened but this course is not in good condition. Fairways in poor to average. Tees very poor. Greens (espically Marsh Corse) extremely poor. Bare spots, covered with sand. Recently punched with no mention of this on web site. Will have to seriously consider if I will play next year.

Disappointed

Upon arriving I was told that nine of the 18holes were closed. That was not disclosed to me when I made my tee time. I asked the pro shop could I receive a refund and they said no. As you can understand I was not happy. I had booked through an online site. I reached out to them and they declined a refund. I went back to the pro shop and discussed this with the attendant and he was unwilling to help and was very arrogant. I played the course and all in all it was a very enjoyable course. It had its rough spots. But for the money it was fine. But I will not be back because of the pro shop attendant.

Nice course for the money

A little confusing to get to from Destin, but we’ll worth the trip! Had a great booking experience with very little advance notice. Drove past many high dollar courses to get to this gem. There are a couple holes where you can actually see across the bay. Will play again someday.

Course just ok

Not a bad course for the money but I did expect a little more imagination with more holes where the bay comes into play.

Nice place to play a round on vacation.

This course can be a real test if you get out of the fairway. The rough was thick and a little high which made the approach shot somewhat trickier. Good pace of play and a friendly staff.

Course layout was good, but the greens and fairways needed work. Greens were slow and fairways we’re spongy.

Great layout, poor conditions.

Once upon a time, I’ll bet this was a great golf course. However, it felt like they are financially failing and have no money to maintain the course. Some of the poorest, and slowest greens I have ever played. The fairways were fine.

Worth The Pay?

Played 18 holes today. I got a golf now tee time for under $50 and to me it was about average overall. I’m from out of town and so it was my first time playing it. I wasn’t looking to spend more than $50 though, so I didn’t have any big expectations. I would say looking back that I think paying $50 is about the most the cost should be. There was nothing that jumped out at me as really beautiful or spectacular. The greens were decent and fairways were decent. It has an old course feel to it. It had that feel as if not much upkeep has been done to it…kinda had that worn out feel. But like I said I was t looking for a $100 green fee here. I enjoyed it and the golf staff was super nice! I didn’t partake in any lunch or snacks while I was there. I did notice that the golf range was not in working order either. It was an average overall experience. I would say that if your looking for an under $50 green fee, this is only a decent round of golf and there is no “memorable experience” to be had here based solely on the course itself.

Nice course for the money

Had a good time playing the course. Pace of play was great, fairways were in good shape, but some of the greens had some bad spots. Course layout was nice and easy to navigate around. I would recommend for the money especially if your a novice to intermediate golfer. I’m a 10 handicap and played a couple under that.

Blue Water Getaway!

Not my first rodeo at the course. I grew up on it. We live much closer to a lot of courses. But I always make the trip to play blue water. Staff is fantastic, course is in good shape and unlike the courses in Destin and Santa Rosa Beach you don’t have to wait 10 minutes every time you hit the ball because the course is so backed up. Is it perfect? No, but I’ll put it up to most of the courses in the area.

Very mediocre

I've played here many times. I actually live in the Bluewater Bay and considered becoming a member many times. I mean why not support my local golf course, right? Every time I play here, I'm reminded why i shouldn't become a member. I mean the rates are okay, sometimes. The course is what it is. Not the best, but it's okay most of the time. The management has switched multiple times and honestly i see no difference. The people who work the front desk should honestly be fired first. Its the same people over and over no matter how many times management changes. Don't get me wrong, some are nice, but others act very unwelcoming. I have walked in trying to get a tee time and get the cold shoulder at times like its not policy to take walk-ins. I'll remind you i live on the course and see nothing but tumbleweeds sometimes. Once i showed up with no one on the first 3 or 4 holes. I tried to walk on and was told i had to wait until a group of 16 to tee off. I asked when they will tee off and was told all of their party isn't here yet. I asked why can't i go ahead yet and they were still practicing on the green at the time. I was told they, 16 golfers, are fast and I'd enjoy it more if I went after them. So instead of waiting an hour, i went to Eglin and had a great time. Walked right in too, lol. The course is very mediocre and could be more, but unfortunately after living here for 7 years, it won't. It will likely close down unless something changes. It's okay to play once, but not the best to return.
