Hidden Valley Golf Club

Pace was HORRID with no marshals in sight. Finally figured out that four groups in front of us were a couple of newbies who were sha**ing shots and just dropping and trying again. Saw the foursome do that 3x on 11 and realized that’s why it took 3 hours to play 9 holes. Called the pro shop to figure out and they said they’d send someone out but still had to wait 20 minutes to tee off on 10. Couldn’t finish 11 and had to leave early, because it took so long. A marshal would seriously help with this sort of thing.

Otherwise, my favorite course in the IE. Sucks that pace of play is a regular problem there.

Great course, weather was amazing, staff was all super informative and nice, can’t wait to come back out and get a piece of this course. Definitely got to keep it straight in this one

It was wet that day, so most holes were cart path only, making it very difficult.

The course overall was incredible. The views from every hole were amazing. The difficulty was through the roof. Because most of the holes are on a hill, it made it very difficult on the stance. However, the most challenging of all was the wind - upwards of 50mph gusts. It was not the ideal day to play, but still beautiful. The pace of play was also slow, but that could've been due to the wind (5h20m)

Santa Ana winds blowing around 15 made the day tricky. Enjoyable, challenging a bit frustrating but very essentially needed. The staff is always friendly and accommodating here. Thanks .

Always priced right, great track. A gem of the IE. BUT… whats going on with the greens?? They’ve been shaggier than the 70’s the last few months. Back 9 greens seem to better than front 9, but still. Other than that, the course is perfect.

My sister and friend came in from Florida and we decided to tee off at Hidden Valley. My sisters friend was thoroughly impressed with the course and was taken by how scenic the course is. We capped the round of by eating lunch in the cafe, what a fantastic experience. The food was wonderful, service was outstanding and the price was fair.

Had a great day on and off the course.

Excellent course. Love the design. Only complaint is there is no Marshall. The pace was extremely slow. Needed Marshall’s to speed it up.

Clubhouse & Catering

The course was easy to locate, with clear signage and directions throughout the facility, making navigation straightforward. The clubhouse had a classic feel, reflecting the club's older history and established nature. The staff in the clubhouse and pro shop were serviceable but not particularly welcoming or engaging.

Quality of the Course

The course layout was unique, winding through canyon terrain, offering a distinctive golfing experience. The tee boxes showed noticeable wear, with multiple divots and uneven surfaces. In contrast, the greens were in excellent condition, featuring consistent maintenance and multi-level designs that added to the challenge. Clear and helpful signage between holes ensured smooth navigation, and many holes stood out due to their unique and memorable layouts.

Practice Facilities

The practice areas included well-maintained spaces for chipping and putting, but the driving range was disappointing. Its uphill layout hindered practice effectiveness, and the overall quality felt subpar.

Value for Money

The round cost $65, with an additional $10 for a large bucket of balls. Considering I only had time to play nine holes, the experience was good for the price, though the driving range's condition and the lack of a particularly welcoming atmosphere could be improved.
