The aptly named Hidden Valley Golf Club feels secluded set between two large hillsides, amongst carefully preserved boulder outcroppings, ravines, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The challenging layout demands accuracy and it will also test your shot-making skills. Golfers should expect to utilize every club in their bag. The golf course features tight fairways lined with mature trees, tricky doglegs, and multi-tiered greens that can be difficult to read. The rolling terrain also promises difficult uphill and downhill lies. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there is water on a few holes. A windy day adds yet another formidable element to the challenging design. The diverse layout has a mix of difficult par 3s, reachable par 5s, and a few birdie opportunities. Hidden Valley Golf Club will definitely test your skills, but five sets of tees make the course more approachable to a wide range of skill levels.

Dog track

1. Can’t hit driver on the range

2. Putting greens roll a 6 at best

3. Rock hard bunkers, zero sand

4. Fairways not cut on many holes

5. Tee boxes uneven and patchy

6. Kikuyu going on the greens

7. Cart governors stopping us going uphill

8. Cart girl has an igloo with bud light, got my card back two hours later.

9. Clubhouse to check in is a double wide trailer

10. Course is littered with trash

Overall poor at best, overall rating 2.1/10. $94 on a Sat, but the starter was very nice.

Course in outstanding shape- but slower than normal.

The fairways and greens were in very good shape- but the lush fairways made the ball sit up high- so it was easy to hit high on the club face and come up short. The greens were like Velcro and very slow- which is not the normal for this course.

The only complaint was the pace of play. We were waiting about 4-5 minutes on every shot. We found the problem group- who was two+ holes behind and everything was gridlocked behind that group. We call the clubhouse and they said they would take care of it. Their solution- don’t send out a Marshal- but put an alert on the GPS screen to all golfers about pace of play. That obviously didn’t solve the problem. The end result was a 5.5 hour round !!!
