Hidden Valley Golf Club

Was excited to play this course, driving in the layout looked really fun, and there was nobody out there it looked like on a Sunday! We got out there and first thing I noticed was the fairway grass was all Kikuyu! Terrible type of fairway grass as that grass is sticky and grabs your clubs. Most public courses use it as a rough grass, but this clearly has taken over the whole course. Also the squirrels were very overpopulated and tearing it all apart!

Cart girl was nowhere to be found on 95 degree day! We saw her 1 time and she wouldn’t take debit cards. How do you not have technology to swipe a card at this point?

So much potential for this course! Was bummed with our experience!

Pace of play was average due to a shotgun tournament otherwise the whole experience is excellent.

Other than the greens being slower than molasses, the course was great! Lots of fun, DEFINITELY challenging. We had an issue where one of our playing partners was hit in the head by a golfball though which was a major problem. The blind corner around on the first hole was just hit straight through and my guest was hit in the head... So that should be fixed, but hey, I had a fun round.

It would be nice to have a drink cart for players who like to play early. We did not see a drink cart till we were on the green on 18. If we are not allowed to bring our own then get the cart out earlier.

The greens were slow and inconsistent. Almost ran true but a bit off unfortunately

Course is in great condition. Pace of play is a little slow. Very tough and narrow course. Will definitely come back and play.

What are my favorite courses, beautiful sites always in good condition greens were a little slow but that’s understandable, but the pace is way too slow

Course condition was great, weather is fair, wind a bit stronger than what we can handle. pace was a bit slow.

It's not that I had expectations of this course to be lackluster, I just expect the worst from any new course I play. But this course did not disappoint. The entire layout was gorgeous. I honestly couldn't stop taking pictures of the views you get at different tee boxes. And the grass quality is unbelievable. All I can say is I played way more pricier courses in orange county that don't even compare to how nice this one is. It's truly worth it. The course is difficult and unforgiving for mistakes, but so much fun. If you are a 20+ handicapper, you will lose A LOT of balls (at least for me and if it's your first time), so make sure to pack enough. I packed 12 balls and not going to lie, I lost all of them lol. I had to borrow a few more from my dad playing with me. I'm definitely playing here again and more often than other courses from now on. I recommend anyone reading this to at least give this place a chance as well!

Having a group in front of us which has no concept of ready golf, the 5+ hours round became tiresome. This marred what was a beautiful day on a great golf course. Fairways were nice and greens were smooth. We only saw the marshal at the beginning of the round and wished he was around to keep pace of play more enjoyable.
