The Links At Bodega Harbour
About
The Links at Bodega Harbour is conveniently situated along the Sonoma County Coast, only an hour from San Francisco and two hours from Sacramento. Its location perched above the Pacific also provides stunning ocean views. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.in 1978, the back nine was the original course before the front nine was added nine years later. Jones designed a traditional Scottish links layout complete with rolling fairways and fast, undulating greens. There are almost 100 bunkers strategically situated throughout as well as thick patches of native coastal rough that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The golf course is not long but it requires both skill and strategy. The final three holes are not only the most challenging, they also boast the most breathtaking views.

Depend on weather condition golf course
I love this golf course but it's all depend on weather condition.I think this golf course is great if no foggy day.
Greens were true
Go play this Sonoma County charmer but not on the same day that I'm there!
Paradise!
Hilly with take-your-breath-away views of the Pacific , but don't order the food from the Snack Shop. Staff is nice and if there is no fog, there's no better place to play.
Spectacular View and overall condition is great
Bodega is a smart course design. I used every club in the bag. You have to hit shots to remain in play.....especially hole 1-5 and 17 and 18
Nice course
I've played at this course several times and always feel that very challenging and enjoying the ocean front views. The course condition was good and staffs were friendly. Overall, I like this course.
Beautiful. A little windy
Love this Course. Greens are large but tough, elevation changes are challenging, views are spectacular!! Just wish it was a little cheaper. Great Course.
Favorite Course in Sonoma County
For me Bodega is the crown jewel of golf in Sonoma County. Nearly every hole has a breathtaking view of the ocean and/or Bodega Bay. Being right on the coast the weather can widely vary from heavenly to cold and foggy with crazy wind. Northern California summers tend have afternoon onshore winds with fog but usually fall offers some of the best weather conditions. I would also recommend checking out the vacation rental around the course for a nice getaway plus some golf.
This days was epic at almost 70F and a 3mph breeze.
Many courses in the area are a bit beat up after summer but before the rain with dead spots on the fairways but Bodega was in good shape. The greens had recently been aerated but done in such a way as to roll truer than others courses with untouched greens.
The food and beverage service is top notch a full service bar and restaurant on site if you have the time. Need to grab something quicker there is quality cooked to order food and beer through a window hole outside the pro shop.
Good course, weather difficult
New pro shop and snack bar nice, if understated. Golf Now price was stated to be a 22% saving although the single we were paired with paid $50 to our $70. I'll think again before committing to A Golf Now offer...
challenging
great course if you can get a day without fog (mornings) or gusty winds (summer usually). best time of year to play is spring and indian summer, clear days and moderate winds. well worth the drive out there and the cost, stunning views and the course is in great shape, lightning fast greens though.
Challenging, with great views
The traps are challenging, very few flat lies after you tee off. When you feel you have everything dialed in try this course!
Experience recommended
Great course, but play with friend or member who know his way and distance. Poorly marked holes and distance, especially if in fog.
Bodega Bay Links Couse
We had a wonderful round of golf with another couple that they paired us up with.
The weather was a bit cold but after two holes, that all was behind us and we were enjoying the couse with all its beauty and the Pacific Ocean as a back drop.
Afterwards, over to the restaurant for a round of drings and appitizers, with live music in the bar.
Great day.
Bodega blowout...
We love this course. Superchallenging in good conditions but nearly impossible when the 3-club fog wind shows up. Be prepared for plenty of elevation changes, uneven lies, rapid weather changes and water views. Food in the bar is very good.
Worth a trip
The Links at Bodega Harbour is really a fantastic course. The front 9 plays a bit hilly, like links golf built into a steep hill (read: difficult), while the back 9 mellows out. Everything is extremely well kept (tees, fairways, greens, bunkers), the course was wide open on a Sunday at noon, and if you're in the area I'd recommend it.
Only downsides were the (a) lack of driving range (although they have a mat in a cage for wamup) and (b) the slightly weird crowd that plays here -- although could have just been a random couple groups I happened across.
If this course was within a half hour of SF, it'd cost well over $100 and be packed all the time -- that's how nice it is.
Beautiful, well maintained course. Staff was super friendly and nice. Extremely pleasant day.
The course was very nice, well maintained. We will most certainly be playing here again. A little course knowledge will go a long ways on some of the holes. Staff was very friendly and made our trip out there pleasant.
summer rounds can be windy but worth the effort
the pro shop warned us that the winds could easily reach 25 knots and they were correct; typical for a summertime round here but the course is always in great condition so it mattered little. Greens rolled very nicely; fairways weren't too tight and rolled just enough to be pleasant. Should come out here more often.
Great course for the money
I booked via golf now and got a hot deal for $39 in a Wednesday afternoon. Course was empty, day was beautiful and almost had no wind. Definitely was able to enjoy the course, the great views and repeat the bad shots.
The front 9 greens had been lightly aerated probably 1 week prior I played there so they were not 100%, but did not interfered much. Back 9 were in great shape.
Its a decent/long course if you play from the black tees, with strong wind it will require you to be on the top of your game. I played with little wind and just couple par 4 that ended up being long, the rest was totally manageable.
Fairways in great shape, so was the rough. Good bunkers.
Great place to play. Not sure how it would be during the weekends...some blind spots and because its a links course people tend to lose more balls...
On the first par 5, play an Iron, like a 3, 5 if you have some distance. The hole is confusing at first but fun at the end. Do not drive, do not use wood or hybrid from the tee box. Unless you have substantial wind blowing at your face.
Lastly, lots of houses everywhere, so if your drive is like a russian roulette I encourage you to think twice where to pull it.
Have fun
Beautiful Course
If you are in the Bodega Bay area I recommend you play here, especially if it is sunny on the bay. Almost every hole had a great view of the bay. Tough course though so hit it straight.
On the day we played July 22, it was sunny and no wind. Great conditions as it can get windy.
Beautiful course and setting by the bay/ocean. Hilly, links conditions and when you land in the tall grass, that grass does not forgive. Had a seafood dinner afterwards for a great day with friends.
A nice course but challenging
I teed-off at noon. The course was not busy and the pace was good. I played this course for the first time and it was indeed challenging. A nice course but slightly over-priced.
