I'd rate the course an 7 of 10.
Since my last visit the course has improved in its overall maintenance, particularly the sand bunkers.
Beautiful setting
The course is located in the Carmel valley. It is kept up very well and has it's challenging holes.
Beautifiul valley in Carmel CA.
I like the course because of the beauty of the area and the pristine fairways and greens. The only problem I can see, it's very hard to find a ball mishit and leaves the fairways. The rough
is OK but the flowered weed growth is white and high, plus the
leafs that fall from the large trees also make it tough finding a mishit ball. This occurs all year long.5/15
A good course in good condition
There are enough challenging holes to make this an interesting course
Beautiful surroundings, good course to walk.
Pretty easy course but really fun. The staff is nice and the marshal is always driving around to help speed things up. TWO THUMBS UP!
enjoyed the round--wife and I played with a 93 y/o guy who had been playing the course for 37 yrs.
i've played a lot of courses in Palm Springs and Las Vegas--
so this course could have been in a little better condition.
greens a little bumpy,.rough from 2 to about 5 inches--a
little too high.
True-rolling greens, challenging pin placements.
Rancho Canada West was in good shape. The greens were excellent. A great combination of different holes and looks forcing you to move the ball in both directions. A very good golfing experience.
This course has challenging shots but fun
Great course would recommend to golf novice to intermediate
Staff is very friendly
One of my best golf experiences to date. Shot a +2 on the front nine. Greens were in great shape and ran true. The food and beverage service was also outstanding. Would play here again and again.
Great day in Carmel Valley
It started off cool and foggy, but warmed up and the sun actually came through. A perfect day for golf!
The course is challenging with lots of trees, doglegs and shooting across the Carmel River. The greens are true with not a lot of break. It's always a good time.
Lush conditions
Course in excellent condition, some clover or other small white flowers in the fairway's this time of year, common in the area.
Great place to play!
Great staff, always well kept beautiful course, and beautiful surroundings!
Great course...will play again!!!
I had a great time playing the West course. The greens rolled true and had a great time with my golf partner. I cannot wait to play here again and also try the East course too.
Great value. Fun Course with multiple shots over river.
Really fun course. Combines link style with well mown fairway approach shot and opportunities to pitch as well.
On some holes, may be a good idea to play a colored ball, as the fallout from some of the trees is white.
Fun and challenging.
Greens are decent, rough a little high, fairways mowed. Some sand traps need additional sand. Overall a good test and fair.
The scenery and ambiance are pleasant.
I have played both courses at Rancho Canada. But i find that the East course is better for intermediate or beginners. It offers wider fairways on most holes and is forgiving. You still need to keep it near the fairway to remain in play. On a couple of holes the fairway is blind and misleading, But this makes you use some creativity to get to the greens.
An Ole Spanish Atmostphere
Very impressive entrance to Club House and Pro Shop.
Rancho Canada is noted for good dinning, great views, and a great golfing experience. I have been playing this course off and on for over 20 years. The West is my favorite, It is the most challenging with several holes forcing great shots over the river. The greens were a little bumpy this time, gernerally they are pretty true. You can't beat the Carmel Valley weather. Even if Monterey is foggy, chances are the course will be sunny.
Well worth the drive. Rates are good on Golf Now.
Impeccable greens, tight fairways, great shape
Rancho Cañada West turned into a very pleasant golfing experience. The grass was well manicured in all aspects, their sand was soft and light (DEEP traps) and the course walked me along an excellent park setting with differing challenges, point to point shots, with available "let it loose" drivable holes. Great distance at slightly over 6000 yards from the whites.
