My experience at monarch Beach for my first time with my dad was spectacular. Everything from The views to the overall course was outstanding. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Everybody made myself and my dad feel welcomed and part of the community there.

I have a love-hate relationship with a few holes at Monarch Beach, but overall the experience is a good one. I enjoy the two ocean holes (and not just because I made back-to-back birdies at nos. 3-4). They're scenic, fair and interesting. I dislike a few of the par 5s (7 & 12) because they're too hard or just a bit awkward. The biggest strike against Monarch Beach is the lack of a range. As long as you stretch and putt to warm up, you should be fine playing one of SoCal's finest public courses.

Overall a good experience. Lacked a little bit all across the board to make it an elite experience.

I paid 200 and it wasnt even remotely worth it. Pretty easy course if you stay out of the bunkers. A single hole near the beach (pictured but for the price you’d assume it’s all on the coast). Obnoxiously priced. Easy to get stuck behind old people on a gold trip who just take forever. We were the 4th tee time and the old 4aome in front of us held us to a 4:40 round.

I had never been there before, and it was one of the best golf courses I've ever played. I brought one of my golfing buddies, and he couldn't stop thanking me. There's nothing better than putting and hearing the waves at the same time. These are two of life's best things to do simultaneously. I will NEVER forget that.

First time and I enjoyed playing the course. Some short risk reward holes. Greens were fast and smooth....ball rolled true.

Played here for my birthday on a Sunday 8:30 am. Round took almost 5 hours, which is shockingly slow for $360. Greens were lightning fast which was nice, rolling at a 13. So many bunkers. The signature hole by the water was nice, but the other 16 holes inland were meh. Staff was great, very friendly. Fun to play overall, glad I played, but can’t justify the price to ever play here again.

I'm trying not to completely trash this place with this review. It's going to be challenging. Screw it. Here is the short version. WAY WAY WAY too expensive for what the course conditions were. After paying a thousand dollars for two golfers for eighteen holes I expected much more. I certainly don't recommend going next week after they aerate and sand the place. Then you'll really feel like you're taking it in the shorts. I recommend going to a municipal course near there for forty dollars. This place is robbery. I'm going home to my messy inexpensive tee boxes.

It didn't appear that the guy working the golf carts really gave a $h¡ť whether we were there or not. I suggest replacing him with someone nicer and younger who could lift my bags onto the cart. Did I tell you I paid a thousand dollars for two people for eighteen holes? Shame on you and your poor service. The burritos on the turn were awesome but they should've been complimentary after what I paid for green fees. Did I tell you that I paid a thousand dollars for two people for eighteen holes? The Boulders in Scottsdale is less than half this price and five times the golf course and service. Give them a call and ask them how they do it. You need to learn.

It would be a five star all around if they had a proper practice facility. Can’t beat the location and views; course is a resort style that doesn’t beat you up and provides an enjoyable round for all playing abilities. Staff is very attentive; parking is limited and valet a must so sometimes gets backed up. Best is it plan to enjoy a drink after a round and soak up the first class facilities because you’re paying for them! I would recommend to friends but the lack of practice area for this price point is a fail.

Perfect temperatures, course is in 7.5/10 condition (some areas of maintenance), very attentive staff, challenging course lay out, greens are very nice and well designed; huge miss that they don’t have a golf practice area, hard to believe for this price point you have to hit into nets!
