Cherry Island Golf Course
I’ve played Cherry Island many times and the course has always been challenging. The weather for my latest round there was very windy with gusts over 20 miles that made club selection that much more challenging. The Greens were all in excellent shapes and they were the best in the area. I wished people would repair their pitch marks more. On one green, I had to repair four pitch marks within my putt line! There are areas of the course do need attention such as teeing boxes that were mostly uneven lines and bare dirts. Several cart pads were full of water that were unacceptable, especially at the 15 tee box. Most of the cart pads needed maintenance or replacements.
Fun
Fun course cart paths were flooded in some spots and some really wet spots on fairways other than that fun course and challenging on some holes
great,good,and the bad
The starter Eddie was the "highlight" of the day. He was a USGA trained professional who made it seem you were playing a professional tournament. He had us ready up while waiting to begin our round. He also regaled us with stories of his background while setting out the rules of the course. Amazing upgrade to the beginning of any golf round I have played>
Course layout if good,,range ok.
The cart paths are dangerous.. The pot holes create a situation that requires attention at all times. Repair work is required before some one is injured. Repairing the cart path is required for players wanting to return. Cart path repair is the # one priority. Please!

Sketchy Father’s Day
I play here often and know the course and staff. Overall I’m a big fan. Cherry’s a good golf course and a solid challenge from the back tees. The course has been in good shape of late, but yesterday the geens needed a lot of divot repairs and I think the holes were still where they were on Saturday. Worse, a 5 1/2 hour round teeing off before 7:20am is nonsense, and not a ranger to be found.
Great shape for Muni
The course was in really good shape. The traps actually had sand in them and you could play a normal shot unlike numerous muni courses in the area.
Course was in great shape
Way better than Mather, Diamond Oaks and Woodcreek. No negatives to relay.
Rough and bunker
There's lots of gopher holes on the side of fairways and the bunker isn't fill with soft sand. It's hard and lots of bugs flying in there.
