Cherry Island Golf Course

I've played Cherry Island Golf Course over the years when I visit family in Sacramento. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The course is in great shape although this time the greens had been aerated recently. They offered a reduced greens fee because of the aeration.

I played at cherry island last week. I was told I was playing in a foursome but there was nobody at the tee at the starting time. Apparently they left early for to the starter disappearing. I have never planned this, there are very few yard markers, and some shots are hard to calculate. This was kind of annoying but I normally enjoy the chance to play alone, so that’s not my main complaint. I bought two beers at the turn, but when I got home I realized I had been charged for something else. I have called the course multiple times to leave voicemails for the GM but I haven’t received a call back yet. I highly do not recommend going to this course.

I do not understand the lack of pride in owning a golf course that just accepts signage on the holes that are probably 50 years old, some half ripped, some spray painted with graffiti. The sand traps have one inch of raked sand that makes them appear to be playable, but with hard packed soil underneath, good luck. The rest of the maintenance of the course was OK.

Its bs if you have to pay for a cart to then have to share it..if thats the case charge me half the cost of the cart then. Supposedly done because it was busy but on the T they send out a 2some?

My review title should speak for itself. I love this place, but simply no enforcement. I give credit to the marshall (though) for offering water, as well as the beverage cart continuously making rounds. But the grill was closed by 4pm. Not even a hotdog. Really?! Come on now. Too many players on the course for this. I'll be back, for sure, but things to consider.

I play this course often. Helps to know your way around it. Placement is important on many holes.

It was my first time to play, and it was much better than expected, with a good green, food pace.

Actually I play only 1st n 2nd hole because me n my partner need leave the corse for received Family emergency called and I try to stop the golf shop ask can we have credit for play next time but they said no because I bought tee time from golf now, so kind of disappointed not give credit for customer.

Bot I like play cherry golf course.

Good course well maintained like driving range its on the grass great practice field

Pace of play was the worst I’ve ever played. 5-10 minute wait between holes to tee off.
