La Purisima Golf Course

Challenging course, great layout. Greens are fast and challenging. Only negative is the bunkers are horrible, no sand and are hard as a rock.

What a beautiful course! As beautiful as it is, it is also very challenging. It has a lot of elevation changes, which if you don't drive it straight, you'll be facing tough lies. The bunkers are strategically placed as well. I was lucky to be paired up with local regulars, who gave me great pointers on where to aim my shots off the tee. This course has been one of the most if not the most nature scenic filled courses I've played on. For those playing for the first time, don't forget to look up and look around and enjoy God's creation. The design of the entire track is perfect, no hole plays the same. I played the combo tees (blue/white) and it was quite challenging, from the tees, to the approach, to putting. The putts rolled pretty fast and true and heavy laden with undulations to make it challenging. I definitely recommend this course to all, maybe for except the high handicappers.

I was grew up and was born in Lompoc, served in the Military for 10 years then moved to Las Vegas, NV. Growing up this course itself was very, very prestine and even hosted PGA Q school. Its known for its elevation changes, winds, and ice plants, with tall trees. Recently I came the course is still in good shape though i noticed the bunkers were not raked or maintained, the man at the register said the flag pin was a position 2, the course marker was position 4. On hole 3 there is no signage for the blue or black tees, youll hit from the whites on accident. I never saw a cart girl, no water on any holes. 2 holes had broken water ball washers. Hole 14 had probably 10-14 gopher holes in the sand traps. Aside from this im glad i played here, the elevation and winds play a massive effect on your game. Bring extra balls if you can, a take a few pictures.

Special course! From the location to the layout, this course is a hidden gem in California. Conditions were good. A lot of undulating and tough greens putting pretty true. Bunkers were in ok conditions. Played on a Friday and pace of play was excellent. I normally walk while playing but decided to ride because of how much elevation change the course has. If I am ever again in the area I will definitely play again. Very tough test of golf.

This is a course that keeps bringing me back ! One of my favorites that challenge all your skills as a golfer.

The 2 bunkers that used to be in the middle of the fairway on 15 blocking the tee shot have been removed!!!! Very disappointed in that!

The rest of the course was about the same. Condition wise, the bunkers were muddy and not sandy, tough to play out of but playable. Greens were very firm and fast, but extremely grainy. Really difficult to putt today.

The sprinkler heads need yardages. Too many of them missing or hard to find.

One of my all time favourite courses, extremely challenging but always extremely fun to play. Just extremely disappointed in the changes.

I have played La Piranha for 30 years. I had planned to play 18 today but a medical issue caused me to bail after 9. The staff was considerate enough to provide me with a rain check for the back 9. This was a very kind gesture and highly appreciated for its fairness.

Great course but I’m a rookie so it was tough and a long course. Worth every cent , lost lots of balls . Only recommendation is they rehab sand it’s a bit solid .

Drove hour and half to get there well worth it course has some long holes if you can't carry 275 wouldn't play back tees greens incredible carts top of line

Winds were between 15-20 MPH. Course is well designed with distinct holes. lots of dog legs, elevation changes and target golf opportunities. I'm a mid handicapper and felt the course was a fair challenge to my game. Although it was windy, didn't feel the wind was punitive. I would enjoy playing it again as local knowledge is important.

The course is always in good condition and well maintained. I also appreciated the new carts which are very nice and even offer a USB connector which can be used for a smart phone or other device.

Challenging course. Helps to have someone that knows the course to help if possible. Very difficult depending on the lies.

One of my favorite tracks on the Central Coast. Great bang for your buck with a high caliber golf course. And yes, it's got some tricky holes you need to play gently.....

Windy conditions ,and a long track didn't fair well for scoring. But a great deal from golf now made it worthwhile.
