Mather Golf Course

Course was very muddy. But this is not Mathers fault, rather Mother Nature. Greens were rolling ok. I will say the tee boxes are not great. During winter you’d expect work to be done, but we will soon be hitn sunny days and the tee boxes…yikes. I’d recommend the course to a friend when the fairways dry out and the tee boxes are recovered, but as of now I wouldn’t. Staff is always great. Pace of play can be hit and miss, but the last couple times I’ve played here it’s been around 4 hrs.

that I paid the rack rate through the GolfNow site for the round of golf. Usually, there is a discounted price through this site. I mistakenly assumed that the prices had gone up at the course since I last played, so I booked through golfnow. Checking in at the Pro Shop, I asked what the rate was for my tee time slot if I had just walked in, and it was the same price that I paid through thie golfnow site.

Greens were running fast and true, but the bunkers were rock hard underneath the surface. Marshals were present all over the course, but pace of play was still over 4 1/2 hours, unexpectedly slow for a morning round.

With all the rain we had lately, the course looks in great condition...and friendly staff.

Mather gives you a challenging course at a convenient price. Course conditions were great considering a major rain storm just passed through.

I love this course and have played it a lot. After such bad weather, it had dried out and the debris had been removed. The fairways and tee boxes were in terrible shape, greens were not bad.

I also had the first tee time of the day and had a decent front nine as far as pace of play. At the turn, they had multiple foursomes starting on the back nine. There was no structure, organization, or started facilitating this. I start at the earliest possible to have limited delays, and I ended up with more than a 3 hour back nine with the brutal groups ahead after front nine. I am not a stuck up golfer and could care less how "good" anyone is, but hitting multiple shots, marking 2 ft putts and having no Marshalls anywhere around was very disappointing.

Again, I love this course, but it is substantially higher priced than other area courses that have better course management and pace of play.

It was so nice to be able to enjoy golf after 3 weeks of rain.

Despite a major storm that just passed the course was in good condition. The bunkers were full of water, but that was expected. Slow round, the Marshall needs to be a little more proactive. Enjoyed the round though.
