What I expected
Good track, first time playing went out as a single and was paired with nobody. Played through 3-4 groups and stuck with a 2 the last 4-5 holes. Course was in decent shape. Greens were rolling well besides. 4-5 sanded on the back. Cant complain.
$32 for a electric cart.
One of my knee is not good, I have to ride at every round. Single rider have to pay additional $32 just for renting a cart.

Extremely challenging for the average golfer but still a pleasure to play. Course is in excellent shape and staff very helpful .Can get very hot in the summer so take plenty of beverages or buy them from the cart girl.

A good day
As usual, the greens were firm and fast and the fairways still dormant. I played out of one greenside bunker and the sand was just right. Tee boxes in very good shape. Some on the back nine are undergoing renovations so the white tees are with the red. Wind was blowing around 15-20 so it was a grind but I always do enjoy this course. Play it of you want challenge, variety and strategy options. And if you can’t fly it 250+ play the white tees or you’ll slow everyone down . Nobody likes slow players :)

Good course, looong day
Course was in good condition. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all well taken care of. Rough around the greens was lush. Pace of play was miserably slow. For a Thursday morning 5 hours 10 minutes was beyond the window of acceptability. This was compounded by the impatience of the group behind us, who unapologetically hit into us twice. Overall it’s a fun course, I’ll be back, but not as often as I would if the pace of play was better.

A special place
Having played many of the public courses in the greater LA area, I can say that rustic Canyon is a special kind of course. It literally is rustic and in a canyon. Beyond that, it has huge greens that slowly transition into fairways, massive natural sand traps all over the place that are actually dry creek beds, meandering sand cart paths, and some very tricky greens. No two holes are alike and all are challenging in their own way.

Great Course Great Time
I enjoyed this course. Only problem it was a sunday and a bit busy, we waited a little too long. Still had fun!

Pace of play
It took us nearly 3 hours to play 9 holes, and we gave up at the 14th hole as the hole was backed up with two groups ahead of us.
Love the course, but the pace of play is not acceptable. Very sad that one of the best courses in the area cannot provide a better golfing experience.
