Somewhat challenging course, greens are extremely fast. Overall a beautiful course with some awesome Par 5s.

Great course for a great value
This is a beautiful course. I also don’t think I’ve seen a course in better shape after heavy rainfall the night prior. Great layout, interesting greens, challenging, but accessible for all abilities.

Sure, not in Great Shape but has many positives
CS is a bit of a classic goat track, but still a worthwhile place to play in my opinion, especially if its not too long a drive. Right now the fairways are iffy, but you can play winter rules and move your ball a bit for good enough lies. The greens are actually fine. Putted true, not fast , but perfectly fine. The traps aren't the greatest. The layout is nice and reasonably challenging for a good golfer., and the setting and the weather are great. It's a nice course to walk, and its directly off the freeway exit so easy to get to. I like coming here every week or so . Love the atmosphere and inevitably play with someone interesting. I'd recommend it especially if you get a deal, The rates in general are low.

Great course, deserves better staff
Rustic Canyon is, for good reason, regarded as one of the best public courses in SoCal. Im fairly new to golf but i play 3 times and havent met any golfers with bad attitudes yet, but why does it seem like the men that work in proshops are so miserable? When I sense people being rude to me (most likely because I’m young with shaggy hair) i go the extra mile to be kind, courteous, polite, and respectful to whoever might be having a bad day. The guy in the proshop was super rude from the get go when i simply asked if carts were available for my partners, no “thank you” after i paid or even when i said thank you! Then i had to come back to the proshop because the ball machine wasnt working, and that must have really annoyed him because he didnt say a word to me, just got on the phone with someone and left me standing there. The pro that actually helped out with the machine was super cool, but the dude in the shop needs a job away from people

Rustic Canyon Cancelled my tee time
I love the course but this time they cancelled my tee time and cited the weather as their reason for cancelling. the weather was perfect 70's and sunny so i am not sure why they cancelled.

Course was well set up and in mostly good condition, the high wind was the only factor with very tight greens making the ball move slightly too easily when at rest.

The rate play play was very slow. The one thing I really didn’t like is that you can’t really see the fairways from off the Teebox.

Good but very slow!
I really like Rustic Canyon! I hope they hear me say that - However, the pace of play was terrible! 5.5 hrs. Yikes! When you have a group of 4 in carts, behind a group of 4 walking; and, this is spread out throughout the course, the round will be very long.
