Rio Vista Golf Club
About
The Golf Club at Rio Vista is situated at the heart of northern California. With a scenic spot near the Sacramento River Delta, the course is even named after its scenic river view. The river delta meets rolling hills on this tough providing a unique setting equipped with distinctive water features. The skillfully crafted water holes are the trademarks of the design. The design mimics the natural lines carved by the river delta. The fairways are wide open but lengthy and generous greens can also be quite challenging as well. Rio Vista is a golf course that has appeal for players of all skill levels from novices to pros, whether it's the scenery or the diverse layout. Be careful on windy days though, the open course can be especially brutal.

Golfing with Mack
Mack and I enjoyed a steady paced round of golf. When we got to the back 9, three people jumped in front of us and slowed down our pace. Poor Mack lost lots of balls due the very high rough. No hospitality cart and the food service was non-existent.
Nice course
Been playing this course for the past few years, its our favorite course we travel from Pinole to play here, friendly staff.
This course needs a lot of attention.
I have been playing this course for 15 years. It use to be an A+ and Warrior Company has turned it into a d+. I have never owned any of their golf clubs but if they are not better at club making them than taking care of a golf course I sure would not buy any of them.
Great Day of Golf at Trilogy Rio Vista Golf Course
I had a great day of Golf Play on Monday 04/23/18, at Trilogy Rio Vista Golf Course!
Thank you for the "Red Hot" price! Trilogy Rio Vista Golf Course Staff was kind and considerate.
I have been a resident of Rio Vista for Seven years. August 2017, I was reintroduced to Golf, as I hadn't played in forty years. So happy to have Trilogy Golf Course of Rio Vista right outside my back porch♥
Not What It Used to Be
When we lived in the area 5 years ago, Rio Vista Golf Course was my golf course of choice. The staff were excellent, the greens superb, the layout the perfect level of challenge and most important the condition of the course was pristine.
Now...forget it. They let the place go to ruin. IT seems like they don't even mow the place anymore. If you do not hit the fairway, which doesn't even look like a fairway, you probably not find your ball. Weeds everywhere. No sand in the sand traps. Disgusting! Not worth playing here at any price.
Absolutely need improvements
This is a sad course! Grass needs mowing all over the course. Weeds everywhere. Grass trimmings from mowers are just left on the rough which are still very tall anyway and once you ball goes underneath the trimmings, you can kiss it goodbye. Bunkers no sand but plenty of weeds. Pace of play was great because there are no other golfers around. I should have read the reviews before I booked my round here. What a waste of money! WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE!
weed patch
this course at one time I'm sure was awesome but now bad very bad if they are not going to maintain the course they should shut it down.
The Course stvRio Vista
We have lived here nearly 7 years at this point. Through several course ownerships, the overall course condition has improved only marginally. At the rate improvements are being accomplished only the next generation of golfers and residents will be able to enjoy it.
Course not kept up
Fairways were fine however the first cut on was terrible. Needs to be mowed. Lost several balls jay into the ace one cut of the fairway s and just off the greens. Won’t play there again till this is all addressed.
Weather was perfect without wind. Very good pace of the play.
Got there a little early but the course was not busy so the staff let us start a little early . The greens were slow but easy to get good scores. Staff was super friendly and let us know about the condition of the course. Only one restroom was accessible due to broken locks. Had a good time playing.
Very Rough!
This course is really a nice layout, but it is in such bad shape! I do not understand why the course is not mowed. Golfers can literally lose their ball even if hit in the fairway. Mowing a course would seem to be the most basic maintenance required. When I played, greens were recently sanded, but there was no mention of that when I booked the round. The greens were so slow that it took almost a full swing with a putter to get the ball to the hole. Tall weeds are abundant throughout the course. Again you would think that the course would be better if it was only mowed. I am hopeful that this course will be sold by current owners and purchased by someone that will have a passion for restoring it.
Lots of weeds, majority or sand traps are dirt
I am a resident within the golf course area and am aware that the current owners are not keeping the course in good shape. Play if you can get a good price. You will probably see bargains down the road to increase play.
good course but ground was wet
Cart path only as course does not drain well. Probably back to off the path by today or tomorrow unless more rain arrives. Not a lot of water hazards but the ones that are there are strategically placed. With the cart path only rule round took over 5 hours.
Poor service
We arrived at the course to find due to "frost delay and over booking" instead of teeing off at 12;20, it would be at least 1:00. Well, finally at 1:15 we were given a cart and on our way. We sailed through the first holes-then the back up. 2 hours and 20 minutes to play 9 holes.
During our wait....not a single apology from the pro shop, starter.
I'll never go back.
Course in good condition, except for sand traps, more than half of them had no or very little sand. Greens were in good shape. Pro shop staff were very friendly, overall a good experience.
One You Must Play
This is an excellent course to play. Took me a few holes to realize the greens were very fast but true. Bunkers were ok more than I like. Don't be alarmed by the geese and turkeys, they're not bright enough to get out of the way or be aggressive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was ok, there was a foursome in front of us that played a little slow but didn't really affect our game. I live this course, if you are a beginner to mediate player, then this is the course for you. Advanced player will also find enough challenges.
Ronald,
I apologize about the inconvenience.
However, unfortunately because of the freezing temperatures we had over night we had an hour frost delay.
The reasons golf courses have frost delays is to prevent damage that affects the quality of the playing surface and could potentially be very expensive to repair. Frost is basically frozen dew that has crystallized on the grass, making it hard and brittle.
This is a common practice for most courses in colder climates.
Also, when playing our course anyone can expect a 4 to 4.5 hour round.
Again, I apologize about your experience and we hope to have you out here again.
